I play poker at the bar every Monday and Friday and there's 6-8 people that show up. They play ~90% of their hands and there's no antes. What can I do to win, lol. I just get coolered within the first half hour of it. I play maybe 40% of my hands to compensate for how loose they are. How the heck would I be able to place them on something if they could have 10 3?

It depends exactly what kind of players they are, and to some extent the structure of the game as well.

Generally speaking though you won't beat them at their own game, so if they're consistently playing and calling down with junk hands, just wait till you get something good and then value bet them to death.

And accept that even when you're the "better" player you won't win every time.

40% is a lot of hands, you really need to be playing a lot tighter against loose players. Because there are no antes, you should be able to sit and wait for a good hand.

I agree playing against "any two" players can be a bit awkward make them pay when you have a good hand

This sounds like the poker games a lot of bars around here host. They are essentially free rolls where you are playing for gift cards to the bar/restaurant. I've played in a lot of these, and while fun, they don't replicate a 'real' poker environment. Good poker is boring, because you're not playing a lot of hands. No one goes out to a bar to be bored - so they're going to be playing many, many hands. Nothing is at stake, so why fold anything?
