Hi all

After seeing Grinderella's new leak series, I was checking my suited connector hand history and found that sometimes when a couple of people limp in and I'm in late-ish position, I also limp my SC.

My reasoning is this: SC are stronger in multi way pots than in isolated pots, because when you hit you hit something really good (straight/flush. I wouldn't consider low pair or middle pair as good enough in a multi way pots, if it's 2 way sure then you can bet).

So why bother raising preflop? I can't think of any reason...

What is your opinion guys? Is limping preflop sometimes ok? Would you raise SC in late position when others already limped in?

I'll give an example:
PokerStars - 75/150 NL - Holdem - 9 players

Limping those types of hands can be an OK play but with those stack sizes I think the best play is to just fold.

I think you can raise if the stacks are deep to balance out your pre-flop raising range.

I generally raise. But I'm specifically talk about when multiple other people have limped in already. In low stakes tournaments there are lots of calling stations that will limp a lot when blinds are low. I don't want to waste any chips before getting in a pot with 5 different people regardless.

Yes, it's absolutely fine, as long as your stack is not low in a tournament. You probably don't have the best hand pre-flop, but you are getting a cheap price, and you might make big profits from a monster hand. Your "implied odds" are high.
But as Grinderella says, beware the very low suited connectors, one-gappers, etc.
You want to have multiple competitors, because it increases the chances that someone will find a hand like two pair or trips when you have the straight or flush.
Raising in this scenario just scares off players you would like to have in the hand, and inflates the pot in a hand that you will usually lose.

i play low s.c the same ways as low pairs -looking to see a cheap flop, hopefuly hit it hard with a set or openender str8.or flush-if I wiff the flop I'm ok with folding to a bet-I think limping in pre-flop is the best move myself

limping in late position with some limpers before, makes you good odds to pay for and playing a nice pot for a bit money

I think if table is not aggressive, limp is ok, but if you play higher level, table is very aggressive , limp is not an option anymore.
