Actually, depending on how the table plays, I found that limping can be very profitable.
But you have to know how to play well post flop - understand pot
odds, putting people on ranges, etc so you can make draws with weird
hands like 63s and force people off better hands by repping a better hand, or trapping.
If it works, you make an invisible straight with 84o and people call you a donk even tho you had the
pot odds to call his bets and he gets pissed
But this really depends on the table - sometimes they don't let you limp, then you can't do it.
You also need to know how to pick good times to do so, ie you have a big enough stack to "invest" into limping because you do end up losing quite a few chips in order to win one big hand
