I just starting a few days ago to play some limit poker just to take a break from No-Limit from time to time.
At micros is like taking candy from a baby. Worst players i had ever seen. Even at NL there are better players than this.
And now the quuestions. I read some articles about Limit holdem but i still have some thigs i did not understand properly. Mostly postflop play.
1. It is correct to chase a draw untill the river every time? There are no implied odds. But calling 1 BBs on the flop and 2 BBs on the turn seems right when chances to hit are higher that the percentage of money i put in the pot.
2. It is correct to call with AK untill the river on a dry board?
3. Do i have to adjust to the villains profile? Or just play for the odds? I mean if there are 2 maniacs in my left raising with a pair from CO or Button can trigger a serie of reraises . That is an example but there are a lot more.
Players at micros are verry bad and i win easely but i feel like i can squeeze them more.

Its all about sticking to long term odds and putting your money in when you have favorable pots odds and folding when you don't. You have to measure your hourly win rate and see if you are making the right decisions. If you are playing with a lot of fish who will ignore the odds and generally bet every time, you need to find those guys and increase your win rate. Many more chasers in fixed limit IMHO.

Just play the odds, most players will be horrible, if you are winning hit hard, you will be paid, if not , fold. Dont bluff, and expect many bad beats :)

A) There are implied odds, and B) if the pot odds are there and your outs are clean, by all means draw.

It depends. (Duh).

Yes, you absolutely need to adjust to the players you're playing against. I've played quite a lot of limit poker, so if you want to discuss it sometime online, I'd be down to do that. But its not nearly the "just follow the pot odds" game that people say it is.

I'm not a coach, so if you're looking for someone to hold your hand and show you exactly how to play, I'm not that guy.

However, I like talking about poker a lot. So if you're on AIM/Google Chat/MSN and you want to discuss a hand or something, by all means message me.

I used to play limit HE on FT. The tables with smallest pots have always been more profitable for me.

Limit hold 'em is equivalent to an hourly job. If you are looking for excitement and drama, then limit isn't for you. This is a dry, mechanical game where patience, tight play and self-control take home the money.

Yes, yours included.
Except mine has about 100K hands of 10/20+ experience behind it.

New lesson on opinions: There are two types, educated opinions and worthless opinions.
