In limit games you almost always have correct pots odds to play (especially by the river) but when does it become clear that yo will not win a big portion of the time just by following correct pot odds calls?

It will come up quite often if you are counting every out as a "clean" out. Say you have AJ on a board of T94 and 4way on the flop you call since you reason you have 6 outs (three aces and three jacks).

But think of what the other guys are betting or calling with. Could very well be hands like AT, A9, 87. If any one of those hands are out, now you are down to 3 "clean" outs, since against those hands hitting your new top pair could be a disaster and end up costing you bets.

So I guess I am a perfect candidate for your training then?
I just wanted you to elaborate more, because I have no idea what you're talking about.

1) I don't think you always have pot odds to play. In fact, quite often you don't. Just because your hand only needs to be good 1/10 times doesn't mean you should be calling your 1/100 garbage.

2) But you *will* win in the long run if you make calls with correct pot odds. If you aren't winning in the long run, then you're not getting correct pot odds.

I think your issue may be what Kornholio is getting at, or how you're calculating pot odds.

These types of questions are quite often better posted as hand analysis posts because we get a specific example of what you're asking, and better players tend to post in that section.

Yeah i think I am calculating the pot odds wrong in most of these cases. I will have to look at it closer on my next session.

Thanks I will have a hand posted in the HA section later today. Might not be about Pot odds but I do have a goal to get a hand posted
