As some may have noticed I picked up my game a bit lately when I am not sick and playing with the people here. I am much more consistent and as a bi product dangerous.

The few things I did are as follows
1st. I started watching holdem players whom win often on twitch and on video see what they do in situations.

2nd. I went to the basics and started reading the basics seeing where my holes in my games might lie. I took a few weeks off poker and dedicated that time to breaking down the simplest things starting hands or cards pot odds etc.. Finding what weaknesses I could find. Then I used pokertracker for a couple weeks and went over my holes that I discovered.

Third thing I did was study poker levels of thinking. I honestly think besides the twitch watching betting patterns etc.. the third thing as I am reading on this stuff is helping me the most.

So here is some pages you might want to look up. I find the biggest weakness in my opponents on two areas. 1. They ignore position and bet wherever when that is something you should pay the most attention to imho. 2. Betting patterns establishing the same amounts raises etc.. so you do not over commit when out of position or against a bigger hand etc.. When you bet correctly is easier to live and fold my friends.

Heres some links hope you enjoy any feedback is appreciated.

Also anyone who is playing levels of ring anything you can add would be appreciated majorly because I am going to ring more soon not just mtts as I get stronger and healthier again to see if I can climb the ladder to new horizons so to speak.

my opinion

I would like to dance with the devil. All the written advice seemed to be right. The only problem with it is you get blinded out if you don't get the cards. Therefore, you have to bet shady cards, where its not a good bet, and hope you get lucky.

Biggest thing that sucks about 1st level poker thinking players, is that we can't use any of the nifty tricks we've learned. To get their money were we also have to be mundane and one-dimensional and just value bet our hands hard with no fancy moves reserved for 2nd thinkers and up.

HUD can quickly locate these players in 2 fashions. ex: 15/5/1 or 65/5/1 or similar. If they get any piece, usually a 1/2 pot or 3/4 pot value bet on every street will take them to showdown just spewing chips. Best to hold position, and be willing to loosen up your range of SC's-gappers, Axs, and Broadway cards, when they enter the hand. But remember even a fish can hold a monster, so don't blindly splash the pot. The Poker Gods shine on us all equally, although it doesn't seem like it when the river counterfeits your 2pr, and the fish doesn't even realize that luckily the hook slipped out.

So level 1 thinkers can be great while they last. They usually outgrow the state like we did, if they love poker enough, finally drop the protective ego, and realize that their losing was more than mere bad luck. But luckily new players always come along. Usually with mommy's credit card and colloquialisms I can barely interpret.

position higher level thinking

good stuff guys especially mcash2 good to meet you so will be adding stuff here to help others and hope ya'll do same etc.. a trick i use all the time first on for position is to have these on my desktop for reminders as i am getting deeper into tournaments and being blinded down.

Anyone suggestion other things equity stuff calculators etc.. please add to this to help others as I am trying to do. Thought was a good ideal to see how we all think our tricks etc.. what devices we use to help. I have used pokertracker for one month I have been sick now a bit so not playing yet but have downloaded 30 day trial of drivehud so gonna check that out

couldnt get holdem manager to work have issue with new windows download so is probably what is blocking that program.

hope this is going to help some of us

What will say is getting back to basics just simply looking over this process of playing poker what your trying to accomplish breaking it down one step at a time really is a good thing. Never forget to keep learning my friends we all go stale at times get lost in the trees of the forest so to speak. Hopefully the advice i share here along with others will help all of us work on our minds and games:)

One thing am interested in discussing poker strategy of playing micro stakes ring games and sngs if anyone wants to discuss this I think would be awesome start :)

Very nice read, i really liked this post
It's very disgusting to study a lot and learn a lot of new and nice things and come to the table and lose to that retarded with 64o, but as we face these situations, we understand that going to the basics is essential and that the bad players are really bad, but we are the ones who put ourselves in hard situations.
By the way i've read an article about avoiding difficult situations in poker, and i thought it gave me a lot of clarity about playing the game as it is supposed to be played, I mean, we are the only ones responsible for our profitableness IN THE LONG RUN
So there are no excuses when we know what we have to play

Agree with you. Eventually with junk cards hour upon hour, it helps to risk nothing anyway by going in while blinds are still on the cheap side. Not like 1500 chips are doing anything once blinds hit 150/300 and looking at another 47os.
