Learning to build a bankroll

Hey all,

I'm a new university poker player trying to build a bankroll from 1.00 - already have turned that into 25 on PS. Can anybody direct me towards some solid advice?

To build a bankroll from one dollar you are going to need to ..... win.
Then play micro stt's on a luck streak until you are rolled for either .25c tourney satellites on full tilt or/Then $.70 +10 satellites, when rolled, then the skys the limit.

Of course there are shallow buyin cash tables if you want to flip for whether or not a roll can be created.

Be nitty about your bankroll management (30 buy ins for STT's, 2500 big blinds for cash games). But stick to the 1-2 games that you're good at.

Don't get a swelled head. It's not difficult to win at micro-ring or at the lowest buyin tournament levels. All you have to do is play reasonable poker, let people give you their money through their mistakes, less than stellar judgment, poor timing of plays, etc., and then not give all of it back by doing those same kinds of things yourself because you get it into your head that you're a much better player than you actually are.

I actually built up a bankroll from $1 on FT. I played two tables (shallow).01c/.02c with .50c buy in each and built it up to $5 and played rush poker until i had about $50.

Read the above linked post. OzExcorist, one of or really solid members put this together about a year ago and it is IMO spot on.

Edit: OP's blog is very good. Nice write up on beating microstakes. I will definitely keep reading it and please keep us up to date OP.

Which, as I understand it, is one of the top three leaks that should be on anyone's list.
