Two newbie questions at once:

1) Do people play worse on Sundays? I'm already at the top of the bad play tables anyway, because I play a lot of freerolls, but on Sundays the play in them seem to be even more ridiculous.

2) This is a situation that seems to occur quite a lot, similar to the image below, and I'm assuming that generally I'm folding here if there are no other reads?

I am not sure about your first question, but in regards to your second questionn this is a standard fold in my opinion unless you have some kind of read on your opponent that would suggest otherwise. You have bad odds to call and try hit your straight (around 11 to 1 odds that you will hit your straight and less than 3:1 pot odds)... I wouldnt try bluffing here considering your opponent has led out on the flop probably because he has alot of equity here and should be betting to extract value from the hand and will probably call any raise you make...thats just my two cents

I think you have 2 options, depending on your reads on him...fold, or since he has a short stack, or put him all in. He is betting 2/3 of the pot, and I'm not sure how far along this tourney is, but he could be betting a draw as well. Being shortstacked, he would have had to raise/push if he had a high ace or queen. He may just be on a medium pair. I might just put him all in.

Yes, there are more casual players on a Sunday and the general standard of play declines.

Fold. If you have no read that he is an unusually aggressive player, you have to assume it is unlikely he would try to bluff you when you have him covered several times over and can go all-in with him for a small portion of your stack.

Thanks guys for the constructive answers to very basic questions, it is appreciated.

Would the situation be any different if it was AQos in my hand and it was KJ on the board?

I think it's the same thing..you have little chance of winning .. when chasing a straight.. either way .. you have 10% getting it in the turn.. 5 % in the river..
I'm not really sure about the percentages.. but I know chasing a straight is pretty slim.. so I'll fold it..
