It's easily dominated.

It's not a good hand.

KJ, AJ, KQ are all big-time trouble hands in early levels with an EP raiser ahead of ya.
In early levels of an MTT.... in Early Position just muck KQ, KJ,AT (& AJ utg).
If there's a raiser from EP, throw the shitty KJ away. It's a shitty hand that is easily dominate (ie. what are you gonna do when you hit TopPr. on a flop in a 3-way pot?... in other words.. how much do you want to lose?). You'd be wayyyyyy better off calling an EP raise in LP with a hand like 75s, T8o, etc.

earlier on in my online mtt poker playing experience... on one day I got crushed no less than 5times by flatting a raiser while holding AJ... each time losing to AK/AQ. AJ no longer looked too appealing (guess I needed to learn a lesson that day... glad I did!)

Your not the only one that has trouble with K J, I use to play that hand until I realized that its almost impossible to win with it since I got eliminated from tourney's holding that horrible hand. Try playing more marginal and and suited connectors. :)

You're sunk either way as orifice said kicker trouble will get you just about every time you get someone calling your bets. It's only useful for trying to steal the blinds in position

If you're OOP fold it. It's just as good as 66 or 77.It's easy to think because you got paint that you can hit with it but there are so many hands that dominate you. If you're on a table that's playing tight you might be able to semi bluff with it but other than that it's usually not worth it.

I read in a book, it's a decent hand in a non-raised, or 1 min raised pot. Only expect to take down small pots with it though. Don't expect big pots, unless you flop 2 pair or better.

Dependant on the table etc theres times when I'll raise it times times when I muck it, times when I just flat call it after a raise etc etc, theres no set policy I follow. But yes it is an easily dominated hand.

KJ always seems to work out for me, provided of course that nobody in EP has raised etc.

I can play a 10/3 with no problem, yet KJ kills me. Go figure.

KJ even suited, always gonna get into trouble with that. Fold in early position and if its folded to me maybe raise from the CO or BT. Also another posibility would be if i was deep in a tournament and had like 100b i would definitely call a shortstack with that hand, otherwise just muck it...

That's because you're probably folding 10/3 all the time. And if you do play (in a blind for example), you're probably going to have to hit the hand super hard for you to continue, otherwise you're folding the hand post-flop. Even if you hit, you're most likely folding to any action.

As for KJ, sometimes it's hard to let go of hands that look really good, have some potential to win big. Sometimes, if you've been card dead, KJ in EP looks like a nice hand to play and often overplay. Unlike 10/3, if you hit a K or J on the flop or some sort of broadway draw, it could be much harder to let go of. Or if there is action on a flop, you might be even more inclined to stick around and over play the hand.

I don't think KJ is a terrible hand at all. It still beats a lot of hands PF and coinflips vs a lot of pairs, but it's also a hand that you have to be able to let go if you need. And not over commit yourself too, unless you're short-stack and you're shoving with KJ.

I can let go of it just fine, after the flop...problem is, i'm hardly ever hitting. So now I just fold preflop.

It isn't good hand to play on early positions.
Unless your'e on a good position & when u raise with it on good positions, dont overplay it. And u should shove if you're shortstack and on good position with it.
