Yep of course. Every poker hand consists of 5 cards so even with 4 of a kind kickers are taken into account. Theres a great vid of the HU national championships where this caused embarrasment.

And a hand I played in recently...one guy had TT, other had AK. Flop came T22. Turn was a 2.....River was a 2. Pretty brutal.

Some good chatbox banter after that one

The answer to your Question is YES. let's say the board reads A,A,A,A,Q
and your holding what you think looks to be unbeatible. yep 2 beautiful Q's..your up against one over..YEP .. someone got it..KingJackOff... ShipIt...
your best 5 cards read like this. A,A,A,A,Q which is no match for his or her best 5 cards shown as: A,A,A,A,K

Of course, if there is only one Ace on the board, it is a split pot.

If the board is
4-4-4-4-A

The pot must split. Keep that in mind.

Unless you are Kristy Gazes, in which case the kicker doesn't matter in quads.

This should go in the "Learning Poker" section, imo.

i was always wondering about this. You know how on some sites it gives you the bad beat jackpot thing. What happens if there is 4 of a kind of the flop with say a 6 kicker and i have an ace kicker. Does my opponent get the bad beat jackpot?

For Bad Beat Jackpots (BBJ) the winning hand and the losing hand must use both hole cards, the board plays for 3 of the cards in their made hand.

So if a board displays QQQQJ and you have AA and another guy has KK, the AA guy will win with Quad Q ace kicker and opponent will lose with Quad Q king kicker, but it is not a bad beat jackpot hand at all.

Thanks for clearing that up. I always wanted to win a Bad Beat Jackpot. =/

How much did you lose when you assumed it was a split pot?

Do you all realise that this is an 8 year old thread.
