It is essential that your concentration does not waver when you are playing poker. You must study the opposition even when you are not involved in the hand.
It is surprising how much you can learn by just looking at the other players if and when they bet, their body language, any little mannerism or facial expression.
If there is a showdown pay particular attention to their hole cards. This is a virtual mine of useful information.

great advice! I think that observing players tendencies is one of the best ways to get a leg up. When playing low stakes live most people aren't considering what their body language is giving away. If you start to lose your focus you should take a break.
