Just wondering

I know this can change from player to player but is there a kind of general amount that you should increase your stack by every hour. i know it can change a lot but in general would increasing your stack by 10-20% good. Like Leatherass what do you think he averages an hour?

There is no set answer.. each tournament needs to be calculated individually... Its fairly simple, conceptionally, but also quite lengthy to explain.

I suppose you could calculate it but just having a lot of big blinds when they keep on increasing is enough to know you're doing well.

I would worry more about getting a read on your opp...

ponents, and playing as aggessivley as your cards and opponents allow you to. In other words, don't worry about increasing your stack at a predetermined steady pace...yur better off making reads and looking for good starting hands and solid opportunities to get aggresive. Who really cares if you get blinded for awhile, and then double up? Chips are chips. I only get concerned when the BB only gives me two or three more times around the table.

How much to increase your stack per hour would really depend on the blind amounts and how often they go up and then later in the tourney how much the antes are.

Like what has been said, it really all depends on what the blinds are, and how fast they are increasing.

I think it really depends on stacks and on blinds and what not, but I think if you are keeping around the average tournament chip stack or better you are doing fine, but I wouldn't get to tight or lose to keep that position, which also complicates things. I know there is a good book about that by someone.

As a general rule of thumb, I hope to win one hand every two rounds and one big hand an hour.

But it's more important to NOT LOOSE while I'm waiting. Not usually controllable.

Depends on the format. If you're near the bubble and you're short, you might want to just get into the money and then worry about it after that. Other than that though, just try to stay somewhat near the chip average.
