Harrington on hold'em expert strategy on no limit tournaments
Harrington on cash games vol. II no limit cash games
Nagraenu's Power Hold'em Strategy

Thought's and opinions on any of these? Looking forward to diving into these! I always played poker by my own experience and havent ever read a strategy book so I think it's time to start getting some outside experience knowledge (hence joining the forum as well)

There's plenty of potentially helpful material in all three. However, you have to figure out what will help improve your game and your results against the opponents you face, and also how to implement those things without serious negative impact on other aspects of your play.

My advice has always been to pick one author (not book) to follow, read, study for a while. I know it's very tempting to want the variety and hop back and forth but it can get real confusing trying to juggle Harrington, Negreanu, Miller, Snyder, etc., as their philosophies will collide now and them.
The ultimate goal is to become your own player, but it doesn't hurt along the way to master someone else's style - worst case scenario is you know and can recognize what another player might be doing. I think I get a little edge at the table when I can determine a player is doing what an author says - plus having the gears to shift into other styles is always a plus. But the thing is you need clarity on what those are and that may be best accomplished one at a time versus one from column A, one from column B....
I think one of the most misunderstood authors is Negreanu. A lot of players trying to adopt his style just do not get how incredibly situational what he teaches is. Instead they are just kind of, "Well, Daniel says to play suited connectors, soo..."
I started with Negreanu but had to back track to Phil Gordon then on to Harrington, Miller, etc.

Most importantly - know what game your focus is (ring or tourney) and proceed accordingly. Learning and using tourney strategies at the cash table can be detrimental to your bankroll.

getting into todd brunsons section in daniels power hold'em book. Pretty cool stuff. Todd is a wealth of knowledge and it's making me want to pick up his book that came out shortly after daniels. haven't been into the harrington books yet. Definitely wanting to improve my game and studying strategy is giving me the opportunity to do so... just need to put knowledge to the test
