I would do it but only heads up, was confident I knew my opponent, and and I had position on him. Otherwize...I am folding.

If you want a definate yes or no answer you need to be more specific. I'm going to assume your talking about NL just because thats what most ppl play. Tourney or cash game? What type of stakes? JJ is a good hand, but a vulnerable one. If your talking like freeroll or micro limit tourneys then YES, you need to get your money in the middle with you premium hands in these types of events. If your in a cash game then unless you have a reason to believe your opponent has QQ, KK, AA then by all means 3 bet but PROCEED WITH CAUTION. You need to be able to muck this hand! The ability to muck JJ preflop is a very good ability to have!!!!! Alot of ppl can't. Jacks are tricky you really need to give more info.

Most of the time, but as Hambone stated, it really depends on the situation.

Why? For value and to isolate because JJ doesn't like multi way pots.

When? Most of the time when your hand is ahead of villain's range which is almost always. Position is a plus. Against fish is a plus.

I would do it but only heads up, was confident I knew my opponent, and and I had position on him. Otherwize...I am folding.

So you fold the 4th best hand in poker to a single raise? The least you could do is flat and play for set/overpair value.

Yes. You're oop postflop, playing JJ oop postflop is difficult. At micro, 3bet from the blinds pf and fold to a 4bet unless you have a specific read that villain will 4bet light (at micro, 4bet is virtually always KK+,AK).

I agree. Only 3bet it heads up. In any other situation I would flat call or make a good laydown. Jacks have cost me a lot of money.

Like all poker questions there is never a definitive answer. It depends on position, other players, chips stack sizes etc etc. You would need to be more specific with more info to get a meaningful answer.

I started a facebook group called I hate pocket jacks... Not many members yet though... lol

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=7497378809

I can never ever seem to play them right... The amount to times it seems that there is a 10 or 9 high flop and I go in against QQ KK or AA.. . its not funny anymore!

I always get killed by JJ too! I usually just call and see what happens on the flop. If I am sb, i'd prob push against the bb also. Most of the time though, I end up folding them.

In position it is a good hand to try to exploit the situation. Easy to get in trouble and fast. Just my 2 cents.
