I usually fold these hands unless I'm sb or bb. I saw a game today with someone heavy on the pot preflop with an off suit J2. Of course luck can play a major factor preflop, so I wonder if I'm wrong on never playing these hands. Also the girl lost the hand, so it kind of reinforces why I don't like these hands preflop. Advice?

A2 different than K2, Q2, J2

Well I always play A2 since it gives you the chance to get the straight: A 2 3 4 5 and in my observations it shows quite frequently. The rest of the deuces: K2, Q2, J2 myself don’t play them unless there is no rise or you can play them for free. :jd4: :jd4:

A2 and K2s are in my BTN opening range.
A2, K2, Q2 and J2s are in my SB opening range.

A2s is in my BB defending range vs the hijack.
A2 and K2s are in my BB defending range vs the CO.
A2, K2 and Q2s are in my BB defending range vs the BTN.
A2, K2, Q2 and J2 are in my BB defending range vs the SB.

Maybe not vs. nits, but vs unknowns, sure.

A2 suited from late position when you are the original raiser is about the only time I would consider playing any of these hands.

Agree to just play A2 from the rest.

The condition warrants when its cheap and suited.

I play A2 Suited in late position when There not Raise. Fold in Pot Raise or in out position. I Raise in the blinds against weak opponents.

I think defending with these hands from the blinds is fine, particularly when you have a situation such as a min-raise and multiple calls ahead of you and the pot odds make it worthwhile to see a flop.

However, you definitely need to be careful post-flop, because you're going to want to flop something better than top pair with a deuce kicker before you put much more into the pot, especially OOP against multiple opponents.

HU in the blinds, if you flop top pair this is likely going to be the best hand, because the odds are that your opponent missed the flop altogether.
