One of the hands i hate is J-10 (suited or non), or even 10-9. I never know how to play it pre-flop. is it a good hand to call with (especially if the pot is raised), raise with, or just get away from. Lets assume i'm in early position, or even on the blinds.

i mostly toss jack ten offsuit but if someone raises and think they have pockets and is a low raise? I call suited every time would be same with 57 810 etc..

those hit str8s often and are great drawing hands for me.

I occasionally raise with these hands in position also but is a simple drawing hand to me or a bluff when know can get someone of king jack etc.. if board hits low cards etc.. or junk.

I will personally play these types of hands over weak ace hands. I dont care for a3 offsuit or a4 etc..

Most times those hands im gonna be out kicked if go to showdown.

As a general rule, don't open limp unless you're at a table where limps never get raised.

So your options in EP when it's folded to you are to raise or fold. If you're playing 6-max and effective stacks are around 100bb or more, the suited versions are great hands to open raise from any position if you are confident in your postflop skill, because of their great potential to flop nut hands / strong draws as well as decent top-pair potential. However, JTs especially has a risk of being dominated (AJ, KJ, AT, QJ, QT, etc). If you aren't confident in your postflop skill OOP, they can be folded UTG and maybe even HJ if you're super nitty. If folded to you in the CO and BU you should always just play them though, because they're quite easy to play with position, and you have additional fold equity preflop since your raise has to get through fewer players.

From the SB 3bet or fold these hands facing an open. I usually 3Bet JTs and fold T9s, although if the open came from the button I will often 3bet T9s too since button opening ranges are a lot wider. If you don't think whoever opened and/or cold called will fold to your 3bet, then just fold unless they are opening very wide - playing OOP with all but the strongest hands just usually isn't profitable unless you have a big postflop edge, and will get expensive in a 3bet pot. From the BB you can flat if you're getting good pot odds, otherwise 3b/f as before. (Note: if folded to you in the SB, then I'm opening these hands every time. If SB opens and I'm BB I'm flatting basically every time unless I have a very strong read that SB is a mega nit and the open is large (>3x), or SB is a super passive fish and limps in which case raising is also an option).

I don't like the off suit versions of these hands, mostly because their drawing potential is reduced. I generally only play JTo and T9o from the button. If you're very confident in your postflop edge you can play them more (but then you probably didn't need me to tell you that.) Also, if the table is very tight preflop you could consider opening them for the fold equity.

Sometimes I play the hand if is suited, if the hand is out suited I never play it. But always depends of the kind of opponents that there are in the table and your position.

Good luck with that hand. I wait that you find the correct way of play it

Early position I would raise with JTs.

In late position, I would call a single raise with JTs and raise JTo in an unraised pot.

Ndnk had a great response. I'd just add yes it's fine to open raise the suited versions or steal with the unsuited but try not to cold call these hands unless you've already got other callers and you won't get squeezed

I like JT! It is a very drawable hand (specifically suited).

I would raise with it and in late position just call.

In early position I'm probably folding this to a raise, unless it's suited. Late position I might call if raised or raise it up if I'm first to act.

this kind of hands depend really on 2 factors you possition & bb:you stack
1. JTs from from UTG in a full table is iffy, as you it will be a proble if someone reraises, but playing it fromCU,BU is much easier. Yes, possition matters with any hand , but playing QQ+ from UTG and is TJs is different.
2. they same goes as with QQ+ if you have 25+bb and your "m" is big enought you can wiggle around and play this hand (after all it's not garbage). But if you are below averege 87-KQ becomes a hard hand from early possition.

conc: play it only if you are the chip lead or close or/& if you are in possition

I really have a similar problem I might say , difficult to play it , but I choose to play it or not depending on some factors : I take into consideration my position , it's easier to play it on position with one foe , I prefer the suited version , very rarily I play J10o , if I have a draw I play it carefully , some other might have a better draw or better hand , If I have a amde hand , apair I play it with the minimum cost if possible ,if I got bet agressively I dropit , if I have one opponent I might try to bluff him , it depends on who he is , what's his playing style on the table , semi bluff more prefered ... generally I try not to get very involved in the pot with j10 , I don't like it , it leads to many traps.. 109 a hand I rarily play for now ,it doesn't have , I think potentional dynamic....maybe on position for a bluff maybe not.... :(
