I think reading books is a good way to learning poker. But I saw some succussful players said they had hired a coach to improve their skill.I just want to know, how necessary it is to hire a coach. Can the coach give you more than the books do?

Books and teaching-videos could get your game to the next level.
But you're still on your own though.
There's no feedback to what you're doing.

Discussing handhistories on a forum or with friends is a next step.
They'll provide you feedback and so could be very valuable.

Hiring a good coach is the next step because a good coach will find leaks in your game and will most probably show you an approach to the game you wouldn't think of yourself.

So yeah, a good coach could certainly give you more.

There's some cases of "poker coaches" defrauding their students so this can be a very sketchy thing to involve yourself in. I think you're better off educating yourself with books as much as possible (and some of the good ones can even be got at a library), and then using a program like PT4 or HEM to evaluate your play.

They can certainly help evaluate your cash game play and you can review your tournament play as well. The program costs around 50-70 bucks (i can't remember what mine cost offhand). You certainly won't get a poker coach any cheaper than that compared to the value of the program.

Do you have a web site where to find these programs.

Is it necessary? No. But this doesn't automatically mean it's a bad idea either. People don't all learn in the same way. So coaching will work better for some than others. There's also the matter of finding a coach who is not only qualified but who is also a good fit in terms of communicating well with a particular trainee.

Well I can at least recommend John A. He posts here, and he's totally the real deal.

And his program's cheap to boot.

Check out the training sites and you can plug a lot of your own leaks without the need of a coach, at a far lesser cost.

Of course they can.

I don't have one but i suspect they would be the fastest way to add some extra edge for your future games.

I have had a coach from day one. He started me playing, and has told me that I am well advanced now in the time frame, compared to where he was when he started learning by himself from books and such.
I would say find someone you trust, and can be friends with to help you out.
That's my experience anyway.

There is a thread on here which on saw discussing several of the training sites. It can provide better information than I can, given I have not used a poker training site in a long time. There are a lot of good choices out there.
