The variance is able to convert cents to millions. And millions in cents. Variance makes a bad player believe he is good. Variance drives good players, making them make worse decisions... variance creates stories, magazine covers, articles, interviews, gods and fan clubs, famous, rich, envious, illusions. Very few things are totally controllable, we are defenseless before the almighty variance. And is not it wonderful?

no it's not necessary to get angry. New players will get angry a lot but eventually you realize losing is all part of the game. Remember as soon as you get angry you run the risk of going into tilt. If you get angry, take a few minutes to blow up and calm down. Then come back to the table and play with a calm attitude. I've lost many times but bounced back. I was literally the last player in this one tournament, by the end of the tournament I was on the final table.

Actually we have the power to step up against the variance and that is playing a lot of hands and study hard.

do not believe someone who says you need luck! I'm watching the game of regular players and I understand that in order to win you need to lose, it happens several times in a row. The game itself is a training, so do not get discouraged because of the loss, try to find your mistake, that it would not be repeated again.

It's not good to be angry. If we play well we always have the advantage.
Anger = Tilt

Some tennis players thrive when they get angry. Some runners run quicker when angered .
A poker player needs more patience when angered. This could include folding a few hands.

If I lose one, then the second, the third game in a row, then I stop and don't play anymore that day.

Control what you can (including your emotions) and don't let the rest bother you.

If your results aren't what you expect or what you are hoping for, you should re-evaluate your play regularly, but yes, you can do everything right and still lose.

This can last longer than any of us would like but getting emotional about it will only make it worse.

Good luck to you! :D

On the whole i think anger is not a good emotion to bring to the table however it can have its benefits if channeled correctly, after all anger is a natural emotion and is part of our emotional and psychological make up, it is possible to utilize anger to jolt the mind into the correct mindset, if you recognize you are angry because the game is running badly, then you can check your game play and correct what you perhaps are doing wrong. The art is to not let anger control you but for you to control your anger.

A good book i read that has helped me frame myself within the constrains of good game play is 'Zen and the Art of Poker' by Larry W. Phillips, it is my personal favorite poker book and i return to the books advice weekly to help keep me focused. Phillips' opinion is to maintain a 'zen' like state within the game and i believe his advice to be very valuable.

Phillips also published 'The Tao Of Poker: 285 Rules to Transform Your Game and Your Life' another good book to help with your emotional game plan.

Greetings friends

In the next thread, I mention several philosophies of the legend Bruce Lee, about falling on the Tilt
http://https://www.cardschat.com/forum/general-poker-13/bruce-lee-poker-player-348235/

Bruce Lee: Learn to keep your fury until you can hit your opponent.
This phrase is very similar to another that we use a lot in the game: If you go do not hesitate, if you doubt not go.

Thank you very much for your comments and for commenting on this interesting topic.

Part of the strategy of a poker player is self-improvement in dealing with nerves and irritation. Your opponents, if you let them, use your emotions against you. The result of an emotional game is wrong decisions and loss of money. If you fall into hysterics, loss of self-control is a common thing, and sometimes the only cure for this is a break in the game. Everything is in order, in ten minutes the game will still continue. Moreover, it will continue tomorrow.

If it's controlled anger I think it could work for you. I think you need to be alert and focused and have the adrenaline running. And yeah, I think if you believe you are better than everyone else and it's time things went your way, that helps, so if that means you need to get angry go for it!

Getting angry means being on tilt or steamy and then you are not able to play good or your best poker

There are players who from losing part of the stack immediately throw all the chips on the table. And the card can be any. If you play correctly, the stack can eventually be returned and continue to play normally.

Yes and it's necessary to have some gooood rough s*x later on...

Or vent it in some other way ;)

Let your frustration teach you how NOT to play :D This is how to undeniably get better and better until the only angry ones at the table are those who dare mess with you.

Necessary to get angry? For what? Sounds kind of passive-aggressive to me, lol. But to the point, as many of people know, the best weapon against variance is to make right decisions in LONG TERM. That is what separates recreational players from decent ones. There is no 100% certain way to win in poker, only EV+ hands get close to that definition.

No angry is not necessary we need to try to control your emotions, because if you do not control yourself and will begin to tilovati going to lose.
