How do most people feel they improve and what can be done to improve. Reason I ask is surely if it was that easy wed all be pros? Saying I like is "there's more to poker than life". I also have never meet anyone who plays poker n says they're bad, not all say they good its usually "I'm alright at it" but never bad. Now over time I would say my game has improved in that I was playing way to many hands during my early days. I think if I looked back I'd cringe n be ashamed. Only thing I done is play more and picked up that I was playing hands really I shouldn't have. I am just wondering how ill develop and advance as a player. I have always been able to work out my outs and attempt to read players n put them on hands or least hands they wouldn't play. Have since started working out my outs as a percentage and pot odds as a percentage. I never used too I'd simple just count my outs and roughly guess how much they've put in the pot against their stack. Thing is though if it was as simple as just knowing the maths everyone would be good so what else is there to learn n evolve as a player? One main reason I joined here was for help and to hopefully post some of my hands and get feedback and have others explain their thought process.

Am really looking to dedicate a lot of time and money lol to poker this year. I've fallen in love with the game and want to be going towards taking my game to the next level. Thank

well improvement for me didnt come over night or leaps and bounds-it took time and alot of effort-i took a pro-active aproach to the game-watching hours upon hours of vids on u-toobe-also i was lucky enough to befriend a few great players thru the years-one took me under his wing and mentored me fer a bit-there was also alot of trial and error along the way-i would read something or watch a vid then try to incorporerate that into my game-a few years back on another forum i was privy to some online training at no cost-that alone was a game changer for me-it showed me what i was doing wrong and how to corect it-im realy just a recreational player that wants to get better,i also take alot of what i learn to the casino for live poker sessions or mtt,s-im not a beginner, and im not great im inbetween there some where-overall the journy has been great-i got to meet ppl from all over the world and learn some new things along the way

Hi Smilewiper91 and welcome to Cardschat. You will actually see a lot of new players that do say they are bad players. And if you are losing a lot, to say I'm a bad player, would be honest with yourself. That's where learning begins, one small step at a time.
