So I've played 12 weeks or so in a league system to reach this 8 player play off game tonight, where only the 1st place player advances to the regional play off. I qualified in the bottom play off place and the chip structure is like this:

Top qualifier 2800
2nd 2700 all the way down to me in 8th at 2000 chips. 20minute blinds starting from 25/50.

I know I'm starting as a big underdog, but what can I do to give myself the best chance of winning?

thanks in advance:cool:

If there is only one place paid, be the aggressor every time you are in a hand. Do not trap. Keep putting the decisions on your opponents. At the same time as that, as always in live play keep your eyes on your opponents. Never watch the flop, turn or river when it first comes out, it will still be there after you watch your opponents reaction to the cards on board.

Update- it went horribly, the big stacks came after me from the start and I didn't have the cards to defend myself. After an hour of play my 2000chips were down to 800, so i shoved with AKo and doubled. Blinds went up to 200/400 the next hand, and when I was in the BB 2 hands later I picked up pocket 8's, shoved and got called by the eventual winner with AJs who hit his A, J and the flush lol.

Maybe next time
