Hi guys. I've just jumped back into the poker world after about a month of not playing a single game. I pretty much burned out after playing for hours every day. I'd got to the point where I wasn't really enjoying the game again and losing my temper at bad players (to be fair I was in games from $10 downwards...hardly full of pro's) and getting chat bans etc and DEFINATELY not making many friends!

Anyway. I have started with the books again to re-cover the basics and hopefully soak up some more advanced strategy too.

I have always had a decent grasp of pot odds and calculating 'outs', but for quite a while I have been left wondering how to calculate 'implied odd's'.
Is this simply a matter of working out how you expect players to act after you? Seems like a lot of 'ifs' could be involved there. If anyone could point me in the right direction i'd be hugely grateful.
Kev.

Implied odds are usually overestimated in NL

Probably the most accurate way of determining implied odds in NL, is to play a hand the way you want (assuming you have the estimated implied odds) then after 20K hands filter out these hands from your DB and look at the actual winrate.

This should give you a clearer picture of your implied odds.
