It means someones is will to call with pocket 22,33,44, and 55. The dash indicates a range. So if someone Says AKs-AJo, they would mean, AKs, AQs, AJs, AKo, AQo, AJo along those lines anyway.

Don't worry, dude. We were all noobs once. Ask away. It's the only way to find out.

I've been playing for 3 years and I had to ask 3 noob questions just within the last week.

- What is "overleveling"?

- What is "floating"?

- What is "squeezing"?

I got my answers, but I would never have found out if I didn't ask.

Out-Leveling - basically out thinking yourself. Generally involves giving your opponent more credit for making elaborate moves than they deserve.

Floating - Calling a bet, generally in position, with the intention of making a play for the pot on later streets

Squeezing - Making a 3-bet pre-flop after there has been a loose raiser and a caller. The logic behind this is that since the raiser has a wide range, he will rarely be able to continue, and the caller for sure doesnt have a very strong hand since he didnt 3-bet himself. Happens most often around the button and blinds. For example, CO raises, Button calls, BB squeezes.

Other people seemed to have answered your question fine.

I just wanted to mention that you shouldn't confuse it with "I was called by a 55/22". In that case, it's a reference to their stats. They voluntarily put money into the pot 55% of the time, and bet/raise 22% of the time (really loose).
Those are generally the first two stats you see in your HUD, and are great for helping to figure out what kind of cards your opponent could be playing.
