If a player checks a flop with two suited cards, is it a tell he has a flush draw?

Would I be correct in thinking that if a player checked a flop with a flush draw on it, that he would be holding a flush draw himself most likely, otherwise he would be betting with any pair to protect his hand? Am I right in thinking this or is this too simplified?

So if the flop is

Kd Qc 2d

He checks,
Most likely he is on the draw himself? Otherwise if he had Kx or Qx he would be betting to protect his hand against a flush card on the turn?

Not necessarily. Sure, they could be checking the flush draw. Or they could have anything from an under pair to a straight draw, or they could have air. I do think they probably would be betting with the K, not so much with with the Q. Sure conventional wisdom says that you should put a bet out there to see where you're at. But people quite often don't follow the advice that they type into chat forums. They could also be putting you on the flush draw and be hesitant to commit any more chips to the pot with less than the nutz or the nut draw.

I would make a note of it if he's been checking his flush draws OOP. That would look kind of weak to me.

Only in flop difficult to say that villain have draw when check, almost impossible to be sure.. If he again check in turn when wet board, in microlimits in most cases will mean that villain have draw and we must bet more much..

Sometimes I bet a flush draw, especially if it is a nut flush draw. Just to find out where the other person is maybe to see their calling range or something of the sort. On the other hand he could be holding KQ and checking to see what his opponent would do. If they bet he may call to disguise his hand strength into an aggressive opponent.

So I don't think checking shows that he is on a draw, but I do think at time it could symbolize weakness in the players hand.

Not necessarily.

I saw people semi-bluff their draws or check their top/mid pair.

But for a straight forward villain, checking usually means he has nothing or still drawing.

ts teach me, how to make guesses in that case =)) all your reasons based on one simple move =) even draw i can play in 10 different ways it depends on opponent. well, to take it real you need more info on your opp to make decision or read him properly.

could just be checking with air to get a free turn card. You cant really assume he has a flush draw unless you got a good read or note how they played their previous hands. if you know your opponent is more willing to check , then you should bet and get them to pay to see another card. Or maybe switch it up and check behind to see what their action will be and also it can give you a tell on whether they bet out with drawing hands that pair the board or even note em on playing draws with top pair/2nd pair/ or bluffs, so i would say re raise back to try and get a fold along with info and ranges of hands you think they have. atleast then, you can check behind or flat call a raise or fold on the river. i think by doing this, whether you win the hand or lose , you got an advantage from knowing what they are willing to play with.. this will allow a better read on an opponents hand range preflop, rather worrie on the flop and play it all the way through. You now have some kind of note or tell on what they are willing to go in preflop.

I don't think you will get much information from his check, but add this information to how he plays the rest of the hand to work out what he has. The first real info will be how he reacts to a bet from you. Does he call or raise. What does he do if the flush card comes. By the end of the hand, you should have a much better idea of what his hole cards are. At the start of the flop, there are just too many possibilities to know with any certainty.

Checking the flop in that spot is very player dependent. OOP it is a nice sot to check raise strong hands for value, or to pot control or give up bad to middle hands like 88, or a draw. In position a draw, missed hand or weak pairs (sometimes even TP) also often check, again for pot control.

If he hasn't made the Flop then he is probable waiting to see what the other players in the hand are going to do. If he raises to protect his drawing hand, then he risks tripping over Pocket that have hit, or the K & Q as you said.

If he raises & gets called, then he has a fair idea of what the villain has. And if he hits the turn with his Diamond, there is always the opportunity for the double flush draw, which is always fun to play.

Not necessarily, you can better gauge the strength of his hand by betting into him and seeing how he responds, and of course take in consideration past reads of villian
