I don't think you will get much information from his check, but add this information to how he plays the rest of the hand to work out what he has. The first real info will be how he reacts to a bet from you. Does he call or raise. What does he do if the flush card comes. By the end of the hand, you should have a much better idea of what his hole cards are. At the start of the flop, there are just too many possibilities to know with any certainty.
