Hi all ,
I finished 4th in the blackchip CC freeroll last night and I think my question is to do with ICM ,
which I know of but don't fully understand.
4 players left , blinds are 750 / 1,500
I am SB with 9,000 total ,
CO and button fold ,
the BB is chip leader with about 25,000
( no stack sizes in HH ? )
I shove A9os , BB calls with JJ and I bust.
I was quite pleased to get a decent result , but when I thought about it ,
one of the other players ( CO ) only had about 5,000 and he would have been the BB next hand .
should I have just folded the A9 ?

It's an auto-shove. The way payout tables tend to be set makes it less profitable to play defensively and to give up chips in the hope of moving up a little. Quite a few players think this way. In the long run, they win less money than they could / should.
