Cant really comment with the info you have given. If you are new, defo play the smallest stakes to start out. MTT will be crazy high variance. I would suggest micro stakes cash, FR or 6max, w/e you prefer. MTTs are fun, but what games do you want to excel at?

If you are just starting out. Depending on your experience you may want to start out at the lowest limit possible. One of the calculators that I use can be found here if you need http://grinderu.com/calculators/. But a general rule is the tournament buy in should never exceed %5 of your total bankroll, 1-2% is a better range if you are just starting out.

i think u should start with the micro stakes. As u play at pokerstars, it has got many micro sng's. if u dont like turbo or hyper games, u can play some 25cent for practice then move to 1$ buy in games. and if u want to play turbo or hyper games star with 50cent then move to 1$ games. It will be better if u start with a bankroll of at least 50$ for these stakes. :D

If you're just starting out playing poker for money, one helpful thing to learn would be discipline, starting with bankroll management. If you're depositing don't deposit too much money nor play to high of limits. Turbo and Hyper-turbo games are not reccomended if you're just starting out. These games are higher variance and require a much different strategy > few new players will succeed. Start out with the 25 cent 45man and 90man non-turbo sit and goes on stars. Those will help you learn poker better without playing against great competition. MTT wise your best option would be anything under a $0.55 buyin. Do your best to stay discipline with your bankroll and not play out of your limits, do not chase a big score, focus on grinding up. My reccomendation for depositing would be anywhere from $25-$50 just to start.

If you are new, don't play in tournaments with high buy-in(15-30$). You can choose the tourneys with a 1,5$ or 3,5$ buy-in at most. The prizes are acceptable and you can win many money if you have patience at tables, because, for example, if you want to win a SNG with 45 players you have to play about 2,5 hours. When you consider that you have gained experience you can play in tournaments with high buy-in, but for beginning is not necessary to do that.

MTTs has the highest variances.Better stick to the 2nl cash games or lowest buy-in SNGs for beginner and move up from there.

advise how much money is better to start ? play MTT

all good advice above but like fletch said you really didn't tell us anything to base our advice on .

just deposit 50 buy ins for the MTT you plan on playing and go for it . then post hands and get answers on improving as you go . jmo

Have you played MTT? and also always put enough to cover yourself atleast 20x just incase. Try not to tilt, and be patient. Its hard, and its gonna take alot of practice and to get used to. best of luck

First of all you must be prepaired for loosing a lot.

So I would say 100x the buy in you are planning to hit.

The variance is so high in mtts, if you are new to the game start low for sure.
I find sngs an easier way to grind a bankroll, imo

Anyone can win an MTT (multi-table tournament).... maybe you will too?

The very first night I deposited $'s online to play 'real' money poker, I put $175 on Fulltilt. First game I entered was a $1 tourney ('The Ferguson') & placed 2nd for $114.00 'ez game'

I'd recommend playing in whatever type of game(s) you enjoy.
Also, if you enjoy it there's a good possibility you'll look to study some too.

When I first started out I hated cash tables. Years later I prefer them.
Go with what you enjoy!

I'm not ready to play real money poker but, I was wondering when I do start would it be better to play low buy in sit and go's or low stakes tables. Or would it be best to try with free rolls.

How much can you deposit? in MTTs I recommend at least 100 buyins bankroll, 200 buyins would be optimal and completely safe. I recommend to start on micro stakes, even if you can deposit more and start to play on higher stakes.

I'll answer with.... How much are you willing/afford to lose as your starting BR? Everyone has their own guidelines for BR management but what it really comes down to starting new is how much you can afford to lose.

When I started online, I already had a bit of knowledge from home games. I looked at my early poker stars losses as affordable "golf" lessons..... I was learning from the "pros."

I like the suggestions above of min depositing and playing low stakes games to become comfortable.... then broaden your games as you settle in to a comfort zone.
