Hey guys,

this is my first post here and I live in Minnesota. For those of you who don't know, limit holdem up to 50-100 and 2-100 Spread Limit games are the biggest games in casinos. I've been playing for about 2 years in live games. I've gone completely broke once and been roughing it for months until recently in the last month where I've been literally just about even for money. I personally prefer live games and all my studying has been pretty much absorbing hundred of pokers videos and religiously following youtube poker pros like Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme and the like.

I'm not by any means seeing poker as my "career" anytime soon but would love to be able to see it as a "part time" job to make some cash and build a decent bank roll.

Any suggestions are welcome from books, courses, or just some basic tips.

Amos

If you want to know all the fundamentals of poker rather than advanced statistics or plays then read this:
52 Great poker tips: At Home, at Tournament and Online by Lou Krieger

You cannot remain a fish after reading that cover to cover I guarantee it will take you from fish to amateur. It won't take you to pro though, that comes from practise and detailed HUD analysis.

The desire is certainly very good, in which online room do you play?

Live poker to me is what started my love for poker. Sitting with real people, conversations, handling the chips, etc.... online poker was just a way for me to play bigger games. when i use to play on full tilt you could play games for $10 that would guarantee first prize of over $30,000. Massive fields and fast paced poker. I like the tournament scene and playing live tourneys takes way too much time and you have to do a good amount of travel to play the real games. Why I stuck with Online poker, but still love a good live cash game.

Relation between the free roll and a cash game

On-line, a large number of free rolls are prepared.
But only play in a final table or a semifinal table provides a cash game with useful information for those.
Please never forget the thing.

A great way to make money is to get a decent enough job before you play poker imo. I wouldn't want to risk roughing it again if I were in your situation!
