If you are a begginer, i suggest to read some books of poker, play for a a week at virtual money and start with 2 or 5nl at cash games.. at cash games you learn the "real" poker

I agree 100%. First you have to learn the basics, develop tactics of the game in the freerolls, and only then sit at the table for the money.

Learn the basics, read some books, watch videos and livestreams, and find someone in real life to talk about poker with. Above all, forget playing at the play money tables for practice. Every once in awhile I'll hear someone say, "I've been crushing the play money so I'm getting ready to make a first deposit!" The play money is nothing like playing for real cash. When people have no stake in the winnings then they just aren't going to play the same.

Freerolls are the same way; at least during the first hours or two. After 2 hours have passed in a freeroll tourney you start to get some more serious people who actually care about the outcome even though they have $0 invested.

If you're new to the game try reading some books are watching videos posted by famous poker players. You could probably find some on Youtube.

What sense to lose money if you do not know how to play poker? If you do not sit at the tables, not familiar with the types of games? Read and watch the video is good, but without practice even for freerolls, the theory of nothing for you. Certainly the psychology of the game for real money is very different from free games, but as I understand we are talking about the first steps of poker.

Email me at alspath@alspath.com and I will send you 7 written lessons, less than 2 pages each, with foundational poker information you must know to play poker, and easy to read & understand. THEN play, FREE, get the feel for the game, strategies (basic), and feel comfortable. THEN watch some FREE videos (I have over 100 on You Tube - search Al Spath) and start with the playlist (.5/.10 nl) first. As you watch, play and gain experience, learn from the many mistakes you will make (at the micro limit game), THEN you are ready for a book on poker. As you progress, find a friend who is knowledgeable to shadow you, point out what you might be doing right or wrong, learn from them. THEN, crush it! good luck. Al
