Hi all,

Any feedback on these hands would be very much appreciated. This was a live game so the stack sizes are approximate.

Information applicable to both hands
STT
20BB start, blinds up every 15 mins.
Mostly TAG play
All LAG or fish are out by these points
At these points I am not the best player at the table, but also not the worst.
I had been playing ABC TAG with an occasional small-ball play/bluff.
I had not been caught bluffing.
My image was: improving beginner/intermediate ABC TAG player.

Hand 1
UTG: 10BB
UTG +1: 10BB
MID: 15BB
Button: 20BB
SB: 10BB
Hero/BB: 12BB

UTG: Call 1BB
UTG+1: Call 1BB
MID: Call 1BB
Button: Call 1BB
SB: Fold 0.5BB
Hero/BB: Hand=AA; All-in 12BB

Hand 2
UTG: 20BB
Button: 7BB
SB/villian: 15BB
Hero/BB: 10BB
NB: Villian is a good TAG player, much better than me, frequently finishes 2nd or better.

UTG: Fold
Button: Fold
SB/villain: Raise to 3BB total
Hero/BB: Hand=KJo; All-in 10BB

Many thanks in advance for any replies

How did the hands end up? I wouldn't have went All-in with the AA. I would've raised to 3-4 BB. You could always shove with the Aces after the flop if you are worried about a flush, set, or straight after the flop!

Hi,
Hand 1 everyone folded to me, but I almost got a caller from the Button. Hand 2 I lost out to villain who called with AJs.

With Hand 1 I did think about raising, but I figured 3BB + 1BB for each limper had me pot-committed...

Hand 1 I would have raised half my stack.... My thought process is with A's it'd be nice to get 1 caller, but not more than that. Half stack raise would, as you indicated, make any other caller pot committed... Someone may be enticed to reraise and push over you, or they all could just fold. You definitely don't want to see a flop with more than 2 people with A's...

With the AA hand, there's 5.5bb and 4 callers in the pot by the time it gets to you. Just shove, you scoop a decent enough pot whether they call or not. Plus it looks weaker than a small-yet-committing raise into a TAG table.

I've changed my mind on hand 2, it's probably a fold as it looks like we're on the bubble?

Nothing wrong with pushing AA, better to win a small pot . KJoff push with a raise in front to a tagged good player not good imo.

On this STT it's winner takes all... would that change your opinion significantly?

Yeah I like the push, we have to assume that a good tag with consistent high finishes is capable of raising wide here.
