Hello, I would like to ask you for some good bankroll management advices. My main problem is bankroll management, few times i've built bankroll form nothing like winning 4 cents in freeroll, shippin satelite on fulltilt for 1 cent to 2$MTT and shippin MTT for 240$, 3 times in a row i've made about 100$ to 330$ in spin&go on pokerstars, in my opinion they are so easy to grind that it is really profitable.
As you may already predict i've lost all of those money, in fact i've deposited few dolars, i've also withdraw some money while being on winning strike, but i think i'm losing players.

I'd like to ask from some hints where to start with mindset, because i know math - I'm IT student, but after losing some big pots in bed beat i'm hardly tilting while playing Spin&Goes i'm able to buy in to 60$ spin, where my oponents are way better than i'm.
Also if you don't mind i'd be glad to study more MTTs info.
In few days i'll play again on PokerStars - now i'm self excluded for 7 days to give my head a rest, and time to think about by behive. Do you recomend me to play freerolls or deposit small amout, and try to build bankroll?

Highly depends how much money you have at the begining. If you start with nothing, than i supose you should start with freerolls. Playing Bankroll mob and other freerolls + qualifing to weekly round 2 should be enough, to win 1-2 dollars. With 1-2 dollars i advice you to start playing .25 45max SnG on PokerStars, on 888poker 10cent HU, those are the softes SnGs in my opinion.

Áll I can say is keep practicing proper Bankroll Management and hope you improve as a player. Just purely focus on this subject if your struggling with this and keep within your rules. If you fail to then re-read everything and drill it in your head until it sticks.

This is why we stick to the micros and practicing it now rather than jump up the stakes and lose it at the highest levels.

My typical Bankroll Management plan now is

50 buy-ins for cash, 100 buy-ins for SNG and 200 buy-ins for Tournaments.

When I hit above 10NL I will bump my BRM to 100buy-in for cash when I play 25nl games.

I'm quite aggressive player and need deeper pockets for the level I play. Later on i'll go more because i'll be relearning everything against harder players.

Being impatient is a sign of a bad player, you need to remove this emotion and do things right. I know from experience

Take advantage of the ability to set limits on pokerstars, if a correct brm dictates you should only be playing maybe 5nl tops and 1 or 2$ sng's or mtt's then set those limits in the software.

It will prevent you from tilt jumping into higher buyins. gl

I think the key of bankroll managing, is when u win, keep playing small tourneys for a while, and try not losing money playing out of bank or high entry tourneys.

If u are running bad, quit playing for a week.

Deposit smaller ammount of cash play the lower volume games that you used to play. You can also try join freerolls which is good br boost sometimes as you mentioned. Maybe you just needed a break thats it . It's good that you manage to control your self after all. Gl

Hardest thing is to go back on lower limits. Consider poker as a sport, not way to earn money. Becouse if you become to attached to your limits you will never
make downlimits and you will be all life donkey. Stick with bankroll managment, don't look on $ as a money, it is your chips to play. So take action according to your managment plan. If you can live with go downrank then you have chance to be a succesuful poker player.

I must disagree with you on this one. You need to treat your money and your banroll as gold. And don't think poker as a sport, thats how all the recreational players and fish think and they are always on a downswing. Realise that poker is a way for you to make money, make your life better and easier. Using that concept you will automaticly know what is the most PROFITABLE play with the bankroll you have. It's not about fun it's about PROFIT.

I keep it on 100 buy ins for cash games about 50 for SnG's and tourney's.
With sometimes a tourney or SnG which is a little higher but only once to get a feel. Sometimes it is hard to stay on a limit and you want bigger winnings but for me it works. When I get below 50 buy ins for cash games I go back.
For SnG and tourney I go back at 50%

And when I lose a lot I just quit for a while and start fresh because once you are losing and it gets in your head it will only get worse. That is my experience

FORGET ABOUT SPIN N GO'S AND ABOUT FREEROLLS. If you dont want to deposit money, play CC freerolls , win money and play for cash or tournaments or st n go, but spin n go is for suckers.

You tell him to "forget about freerolls" and then tell him to play CC freerolls in the next sentence... Also, Spins are not "for suckers", like any other game they can be profitable if you know how to play them and play a big enough sample size... They do have huge swings though, so you should have a BR of ~250BI.

I'm with the quote above that moving down limits is not a bad thing. Take sport in general - does every single successful professional athlete move from college/junior right into the big time? No...not even close. many athletes get bumped down to the minors, come back up, go back down, and work hard at their skills before becoming a full time professional athlete at the highest level.

Poker should be treated the same way. Use lower limits to hone skills, make the right decisions, and move up to get a taste of the next level. Going down if it doesn't go well at first shouldn't be a bad thing, it should be a sign that you aren't yet ready & that has nothing to do with bankroll management. Go into every game with the will to win and win big.

Where I struggle is the post I made about what level based on your bankroll. I'm considering trying .05/.10 NL as I've made good progress at .02/.05 but if I blow $10 there, I'll go back down and keep working.

Eventually, the money comes.
