It may not be a post of strategy or game modes, but it's something that I spend today and I realized that, I have no patience to play, I realized that I lose in bad hands and then entered reason, which is part my personality, but I want to fight this way of being, and I need some advice.:confused::confused:

Create a solid range, only play this range, review each poker session. Gradually you will improve more and more.

Watching videos how other players play is a very good idea.
I often watch live streams of professional players e.g. on Twitch. It helps me a lot!

Since you specifically mention patience, with an implication that you tilt when you lose, I suggest you play 1 million hands on Stars using only play money. You won't go broke that way.

In that process, you will learn patience. Depending on your free time to play online, you can do it in 2 years.

If you see that as a total waste of time, then I think you will never develop patience, and poker should probably not be you game of choice.

I agree with dj11. Practice makes perfect and seeing alot of hands for free will help mold your game. Videos of pros will help too. There only about 40 good starting hands out of 238 I believe. So it would be wise to fold the other crap.

Set yourself up with good hands preflop. It only helps during the hand to not get coolered or counterfeited.

Good luck in your poker quest.

If you get impatient easy, try playing for shorter amounts of time, or simply play a faster game of poker. Try rush/zoom, you'll get a new hand instantly when you fold. It may help you keep interested and focused to play better.

I have had issues with this before and still struggle from with patience as most poker players probably do from time to time.
I found that reading strategy books helped with controlling my patience when it comes to poker.

I'm suffering from the same, and more gaps in skills.
I stick to freerolls and try to reckognise the 'impatience tilt', then find how to deal with it (don't become a bluffing calling station).

Well ,bad phase yours but,I have a good idea:Try to play only premium hands AA KK QQ and AK AQ JA. Low pairs just call or even fold.Doing this your results maight be better.I'm a beginer too but by the time I started playing like this (Tight) I'm surviving longer than before.

Try and love every game that you are playing and make sure that you are playing within your bankroll so you don't feel the rush of trying to win money. Spread your money out over time and only play when you really want to play poker.

I never do well when I just want to make money. I have to want to be there and enjoy the game of poker. I put on some relaxing music and enjoy some tea while I play cards but that's me.

The way i learned patience was i took the time and watch the tournaments i play in and see how long it was and what the binds and antes where when i would get in the money and what they where when i would get at the final table.

So then i would know so when i started playing in them tournaments i know how much chips to build up to and how long it took to do it.

I hope that helps you like it did me very good luck

The Mental Game of Poker is a great book to help with that side of the game. Its one of the most difficult parts of the game to master.

Invest the energy and eagerness you have in playing your hand in analysing the table you are at when you don't have cards that are good for that position.

I had the same issue where I wanted to win every pot. I used to think everyone was bluffing all the time.

There were two things that helped tremendously.
First was right here on cards chat. Before I came here I never had a strategy let alone a pre-flop strategy. Reading this and following it to the tee helped tremendously. Eventually I gradually worked in my ranges depending on the type of table and position I am in better:
https://www.cardschat.com/preflop-mistakes.php

The second thing was this article from PokerNews.com:
https://www.pokernews.com/strategy/how-to-prepare-yourself-for-a-poker-tournament-23281.htm

I was always under the impression that I had to chip in the early stages no matter what so I was in a hurry up mode and doing things I would never do in a cash game. After reading the article I slowed down and played sensibly and had goals. My goals are simple. Make it to the next break. I am close to the ITM positions my goal is to make to ITM and then of course final table and winning.

When I get impatient or frustrated I remind myself of the goal sometime looking at the prize and try to not get discouraged.
