I don't know if people on here are American or mostly from different countries, but today I decided to try online poker. I put in $25 USD telling myself that it would be my only deposit for today. Lost that, and kept depositing more and more until I got up to about a $130 loss. I was playing blackjack, which obviously is risky. Is there any way for me to get my money back? And are there any sites that are the best for online gambling? I have no idea how to play anything other than BlackJack (which I obviously don't know a strategy for, just the rules), but what game would be best for me to play? Or should I just never play any gambling game again? Even if I can't gain my money back fast I still would like to play poker or something for fun if I don't lise a lot of money. Thanks

I tried to message you but apparently I need 15 posts before I can. With all respect, unless you can gaurantee that I will get my money back (now over $200 lost), then I would rather just cut my losses at this point, because this is as much as I want to lose. Will you be able to help me get it all back for sure? I don't mean to be rude but I'm pissed at myself for this even though others have lost much more. Thanks for your response!

Good lord, dude. Put away the credit card. Nobody can guarantee you that will get your money back. And risking in an effort to win back what you lost is a terrible strategy for someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

If you want to learn poker, try Zynga poker. It's free and you can at least learn the basics. Then come back here and download ACR or BCP and play the freerolls until you figure out what you are doing.

Thanks for the advice, I will download Zynga and play it for a few weeks. What is ACR and BCP? I do want to learn how to play just because I've always been interested in Poker. Can I message you if I have more questions?

Wants to try online poker.

Plays blackjack and loses big.

There is no guarantee you'll get your money back, nor should you expect someone to get your money back for you. I can give you all the tool tools to succeed and that's still without a guarantee.

Stop depositing. Play freerolls and go from there. It sounds like you have no experience with playing online poker, so I suggest you start at the bottom. Download some poker clients and grind freerolls. It'll take a long time to get your money back, if you even do, so don't expect fast results.

Don't do zynga. Play there is terrible and will do nothing for you. At least playing freerolls allows you some experience with the chance of building a bankroll.

You might as well say goodbye to your money for a while. Just think of it as an expensive lesson.

ACR is America's Card Room. BCP is Black Chip Poker. Cardschat offers freerolls every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on those sites with $100 prize pools. The competition is great and you will improve a lot. Build up a bankroll that way. Don't deposit $200 in one day.

Only play Zynga long enough to get the basics. It is not a serious site so you won't get a lot better on that site and will pick up a lot of bad habits. Get active in CardsChat, read the forums (particularly the hand histories) and ask questions. Don't PM them to one person. Just ask them in the forum and you'll get lots of advice.

First of all calm down. No good ever comes crom being over excited when it comes to gambling.

1. Stop playing table games...i.e. Blackjack without reading a strategy book. And never play them online...ever. And the only table game you should ever play is BJ or craps

2. Online play poker only or sdfl. Read books on how to play first. Then play for free. Then make money.

3. Rushing to make money will only cause you to lose more. Relax and proceed with caution.

Thanks for the help everyone, I had no idea what free rolls were, so I will learn the basics and then proceed to try them. I am glad I found a forum with knowledgable people on this subject

"Lost that, and kept depositing more and more until I got up to about a $130 loss."

Seems you might have a problem that the most viable solution would be to avoid the whole thing all together.

If not, then learn and practice BANKROLL MANAGEMENT. Without this discipline/skill set you are going to find yourself in the same situation over and over.

If you absolutely must proceed with this then commit the next 6 months to year playing only free poker (at least a couple times a week). Qualify for the CardsChat Freerolls and play as often as you can. Play in your local bars. If and when you reach the point that it becomes a game of skill for you (meaning you can, at minimum, calculate odds and percentages based on various other skill sets) then you can consider playing for money.

Also, during this 6 months to year get and read (and re-read) various poker books by the following couple of authors:
Phil Gordon
Dan Harrington

Others will recommend others, but commit to these two guys only for that initial training burst (6 months to a year) before moving on.

I will not wish you good luck, but rather good skill.
