HU Game Length

Hey again. I hope I'm not posting too many new threads, sorry if I am. I'm just really dumb about poker and want to glean any tidbits of knowledge I can from you guys. Your posts and discussions have helped my game so much. Thank you!

So anyway, a quick dumb little question: I've been playing Hold Em NL HU lately ($5) and I usually end up winning really quickly, taking people out in the first or second level of the blinds. Is this typical for HU, or is it more just indicative that they just stink a lot more than I do?

Hard to say, you could just be having a good run of cards, or you could be getting in with weak players. I've had HU matches last anywhere from 1 hand to nearly an hour. You'd need to post some hand histories or something to get a real answer on that. Keep it up though!

Don't worry about it; that's exactly what this section is for. We want all levels of players to feel comfortable posting their questions regardless of complexity. We all started at the same level just at different times. If you're finding the advice helpful (which it sounds like you are), then by all means stick with us and keep posting.

Yeah, I think mparker was pretty much right on the money in his reply. How many games are you talking about? Winning 4 of 5 or even 9 of 10 could just be a huge hot streak. I've also had HU games that I've both won or lost on the first hand couple hands and some that have gone quite long.

But as long as it's working for you keep at it.

I've been playing a lot of $2 HU SnGs lately, and it's rare that they go more than 15 minutes / three levels - often they're over during the second level. Ones that go past the fourth level are especially rare.

Have played a lot less $5 games, but the ones I have played were pretty similar.

So I'd say it's normal.
