Hello. I am kind a experienced poker player. But online isn't the same as real life..

So, i can't get focused on game. I start good, but later i got like bored and i bluff too much and lose a lot of chips.. I heard that meditation works, but i don't know how to actually do it. :D

So any suggestions how to focus on good playing?

If you feel like you are getting bored in a game, try sitting out for a while, if you can not get over this, I suggest that maybe poker is not for you if you get bored.

Don't loosen up after you made the money - you are aiming for top3, preferably, the win. Maybe when you reach the ITM, you feel like you've already won and start losing chips by "getting bored". Listening to good music helps me too.

I think you should work your way up to the number of hours you want to play. Its just like getting ready for a marathon. You cant just go out and just run it. You must train your body for it. In poker play for an hour and then stop. Then come back later and go for about an hour and 10 minutes and then stop. Keep adding 10 to 15 minutes each time. In no time you will be putting a long sessions and will not even know that you are doing it. Good Luck

If you want to earn some money, you should be prepared to play for 2 hours, at least. Get some rest before starting and ignore TV and other distractions. That´s the only way to know your opponents skills to plain the right strategy against them.

Most important to be rested , do not drink alcohol , try not to think about the money but it's better to try to enjoy it . After that , I think that playing poker is a pleasure :)

Why would you change your play when you have a larger stack? Until there are just a few players left or the blinds get too high, hold fast and pick your spots. And how are you getting bored? When you fold, you are to study each players actions through each street and hope to see their hole cards so you can start isolating your opponents ranges and plays. If you are getting bored playing poker than this is not your game. There is so much happening at any given moment during the game that you should always pay attention. This is how players get an edge. Concentration, isolation and exploitation.

Also, this is a game. No meditation, yogo, or mocha latte is going to give you an edge. You gain an edge by studying the game, your opponents and paying attention to the goings on. Minimize your mistakes and play aggressive when you have it. Never give a free card when you can snipe the pot right there.

Coffee is king when I play online! Sometimes I will take those 5 hour energy drinks you get at the gas station to keep awake while driving those long trips. I know not to eat to many carbs before I play a long session. That puts my 41 year old body down quick. I heard a lot of players talk about exercising and staying in good shape can keep you in better mental/alert state. I just need to get my ass to the gym!

Pretty much says it all right there. Learn to stay actively engaged in the game when you are not in the hand. As you learn to do the things mentioned above, the game will be more interesting, more fun, and more profitable.

I play best when I'm multitasking other stuff. For example browsing some stuff on internet. That makes me more patient, because when you do something else meanwhile, you don't care too much about time. When you have to fold 10 hands in a row and don't consider it as waste of time or whatever, or tilt. You move focus to other things, so you don't boil yourself in it.

Everyone has about covered everything. But you did not say if you are playing MTTs or cash. If you are playing MTTs, could try playing 2 at a time. That helps keep you busy. I play 4 tables of something most of the time, and still have the time to watch how other players are playing. If you are playing cash tables, you could do like RegHC23 advised you. Play an hour, quit awhile, and then later go at it again. I like cash games best just because I can stop when I want to. But just like some others have also said, if you are getting bored when you should be excited about the stack you have won, poker is not for you. You really have to get involved. There is a lot to learn about poker, so maybe if you try to get excited about learning, then it may get you excited about the game. You said something about bluffing. Ask some questions about bluffing and try to get good at it. That is what makes poker exciting. Those moves you make to throw the other players off. GL to you

U know what? Thats why i play 2-3 tourneys at the same time or 1 tourney and 1 table or spin and go in pokerstars.. That helps. This way u r not supposed to call every "good" hand just to do something, because u will be busy with other tables and thats how u will play only very good hands

Lexxx now that's a good one. I would rather have beer, because it does to me what coffee does for others. I can drink 2 and go for hours.

I think you need more practice in live poker, just try to focus the game, but dont be too nervous. For me, after 5-6 games, it stoped beeing a problem.

Sometimes I have the same problem - cup of coffee of tea and good music can help almost always. Just try not to be over-focused on game, or your brain will get tired very quickly :)

If its boredom/frustration it can be caused by playing too many days in a row.

Take 3 days off and you will be itching to get back into it.

Just condition yourself before game begins like enough rest or sleep.

Stretching, walking, coffee, sweets also helps.
