At 5 nl try not to bluff to much, only play good starting hands, dont call raises out of position with marginal hands, raise with marginal and good hands in position.

You need to go for tight aggressive. Meaning play only premium hands out of position and raise/call raises with decent hands in position. For example, in early position, don't play QJ even if it's suited. But it is a fine hand to defend with in position, or raise if you are on the button in an unopened pot. Read some articles or watch some videos on playing micro stakes and hand selection/position. Also, take notes on players if you notice specific things about how they play. This will help you make money against them later. Gl!

Are you staying at the $.02/.05 games & losing $20 all in one session. You should practice BRM(bankroll management) & ONLY lose 3 max buy-ins at a time.

I have learned to win small amounts at a time & it adds up. You don't need to double up your bankroll every time you play. Here is a baseball analogy: If you get four singles ( meaning you get 4 small wins) that equals a Home Run. So you did hit a HR, but it just took you a little longer & you were taking a lot less risk.

I wish you luck in the future.

Cash game nature is so volatile since your br is at stake all the time.

Compared to tourneys/sng where the initial buyin which is just portion of br is on the line.

Have to inject volumes to learn about it. To do that, start from the lowest.

Experience is one of the keys.
