went from 60$ to 341$ with cashgames in 2 weeks. - Its not a Bankroll, but its something.
But in my opinion cashgames are borring :/ - sometimes!
Im more into the big prizes on top in tournaments etc, but with the large field of players in every tournaments on pokerstars its so tough and I simply dont have the patience for it at the moment.
Ive tried everyhing- 6max, full ring cashgames, 9-handed sng, MTT sngs, MTTS, spin n goes.
A lot of members will tell you to stick to 1 thing, and become very good thing at that one thing - Im more like a shifting player... Sometimes I like the exciting sweat MTTs can give you.
sometimes I just like to lay back and dont care about rising blinds and antés and then i go for Cashgames.
For now, 45-man sngs and cashgames have been profitable for me in the long run.

Just to echo this sentiment, any cash you get from a freeroll will likely provide a reasonable starting point for some of the micro SnGs.
