I've started the book 'Theory of Poker' by David Sklansky.

Not able to go past the first quarter of the book.

many examples about various different types of poker like Omaha, Razz, 7-card-stud and so on are discussed.

Though this gives a broader perspective of the concepts, it is kinda overwhelming.

Could you please advice how you take notes, how you revise or bookmark when you're studying a poker book.

Usually, I will read 3 times to learn a book, I will make note all the time.

At last, I will make all the notes together to review.

study books that your applying your game to. Whatever you like to play on, focus on that particular game and nothing else. The other books on poker should be read on free time or whenever you like to read. You can read different types of games but if you only play No limit Holdem, MTT, CASH OR SNG. You want to get books that coaches put out there for NLH MTT, CASH , OR SNG. if you play 6 max. or 9handed. get a book on 6max. I wish i had someone tell me this when i started, otherwise i would have just focused on SNG ALL DAY and use stairway to bankroll approach on online and just capitalize on moving up..

I tend to skim read the book first, and so I have a basic understanding of the concepts and strategies in there, then I go through and highlight the parts I need to read over and over again. Then I read it again. If you are unsure or forget something, go back and read your notes or highlighted points.

Up until now, I've just completed 2 books.
I've read them and haven't put pen to paper except for the math part.
Apart from that, I'm now realizing the importance of taking notes on the side.

Thank you.

No problem, good luck.

Out of curiosity, what are the 2 books you've read?

I have the Theory of Poker and although it is now dated, still teaches one to think like a poker player. As said on earlier posts, skim read it once and then concentrate on the chapters which cover where you stand as a poker player
