How to stop our losses in poker
Many have asked this question, and still do not have a good answer,
On many occasions, we think we are playing correctly, but the reality is totally different
The answer is simply, as in life, there are no guarantees. All you can do is play each hand and every game on its merits. Add a little skill, a bit of luck and mix well the complexities of human nature and you win
I believe we should always observe the signs, never to get into a hand that can lead us to lose, when we lose with something we think we would win, then we enter a state of torpor where nothing else is possible, Then it is the imminent defeat
For you, what is the best way to stop our losses in poker?
Be cautious while playing, and respecting your bankroll and your money
Play a control and thus maximize your winnings and minimize your losses?

Never bet what you can't afford to lose is a general rule everyone should follow.

I think one of the most important things for me is bankrollmanagement, beside knowing / learning when to stop, when things not running so good as expected.
About the last thing I could have still more discipline, altough I improved already a lot comparing to my beginning years.

I agree Wilpinsi but it's easy to not see a potential winning hand, it's easy to slip up and make a bad call. It happens to all of us. I think the important thing is knowing when to stop playing.

but!

where and when is the defintion of skill we all have to ask ourselves? is it skill to go all in with A and K because u know its high cards ? i think not .
When exactly is playing poker requiring skill ? I cannot tell one example tbh.
Doing some % mathematics cannot be defined as skill in my opinion.

Disipline and bankroll management are the key factors here. The hands that you play and the hands that you want to play are two different beasts entirely. Never chase (like flushes and straights) play only th solid hands. Never play more than 20 percent of your bankroll at a time (unless you have the absolute nuts at the river). And when it stops being fun "TAKE A BREAK FROM IT!"

LOL simple solutions is to not play at all

But minimize the losses. Play within your means, not over your head.
Continually learn because nobody will know every single outcome or know everything there is to know about this game.

It is almost always more luck then skill
One needs to stay focused , and literally watch the cards as they are trending/falling out
Skill only comes in to affect when you watch the other players at the table , how they play, what they bet on , and yes even make notes - that helps for when you come up against them again ( notes are available for players - this is why )
That to me is the main skill - is watching and paying attention to what the others do so you can use it for the hands you are dealt, and you always need to be aware of the order of winning hands that could be with the cards on the table - count the outs for you and possibilities the others have , and take in how many players still in the hand
That's the best one can do - and have fun - even if you lose , because you tried

Then good luck.

It depends. If someone loses all the time, he should give up playing poker. Unless he plays only for fun and he can afford it.
And if someone normally is winning player but has a bad run, I think he should take a break for a while and possibly think, if he's playing as always or has changed something.

Generally I recommend also not to use more than 5% of the bankroll at one time.

In poker, as in life, there are black bars, if you see that you fall down, find strength, break away from poker, relax, go to the cinema on nature, talk to your friends.

Managing a bankroll is important. You do not need to go deep into poker. You need to comprehend your actions and analyze the errors. In order not to repeat them.

I've noticed I have good days and bad runs. When I am on a bad run and cannot bring myself to take a break, I go down in level so I still can pick at it without losing more than token amount. continuing to play with on a down swing can become costly.

Sometimes there is no way to know if we will lose, we can ease our losses, if there was a wsop there would be only one champion, the way is when you know you will win, to extract the maximum to compensate the losses. Poker consists of having a greater range of winnings than losses, if limited to dubious hands.

Well that is a dream, even with the best hand or position the River will take you to loose must times, so maybe if you stop playing it will for sure stop yopur losses and winnings in poker.

I try Bankroll management, position and experience to try to win some but still losses are higher. :deal:

Greed, wait until you enter the bankroll at 0 and start playing poker, because profit is the best goal for professionals: Еек:
