Quit playing and find out what is tilting you. Work on that before you burn a hole in your bankroll.

1. STOP playing!
2. Step away from the computer and take a break...a walk outside, run on the treadmill, hang out with friends...something to clear your head.
3. Write down on a piece of paper why you want to play poker and that you want to always play your best (put this next to your computer).
4. Still not quite there? Try watching a youtube clip or piece of poker coverage that gets you excited about playing again or getting together with friends for an informal home game.

this if on tilt walk clear mind

play a game that has no meaning to the pocketbook next play for the basic reason all of us have inside cause of love of game

i believe all of us have a basic love for game so if get back to that point you cant be tilted

its tough though cause your invested money time hatred of losing luckyboxes lol

but is like golf you hit that perfect shot? its all worth it

have a short term memory loss play again after your clear head and walk:)

Tilt is really a hard thing to deal with, and I came here tilted very bad. I had so much negative thinking going on that I could not focus on anything but my own anger. I could not play any poker because for one I had very little left in my BR and that was at FF For the other, I did not want to play because I was worried about what would happen if I just went off on it all and start breaking things like my computer. My anger was about that bad, and I know it showed it's self for others to see. Like my family who could not understand any of it, but I sure talked about it to family members until they let me know that they did not want to hear all the negative shit I was spiting out. So I stopped that and started talking more to people online about my shitty life that poker caused in the first place. Well it was not long before those online people didn't want to hear it either. My tilt was so bad then that it felt like a ton of shit was on my back, and all if it was nothing but all the bad beats and stupid plays I made and I was losing whole buy ins as fast as I could go. I was just mad at the whole world and I didn't really know what to do to fix the tilt problem, even if there really was a way to fix the crap I was in. I sure didn't believe there was so I just held onto my negatives for awhile longer because I didn't really want to let go and then have nothing left to blame for the things I thought was the whole problem. Well about that time I found CC and I hoped to find some answers that would get me back on track and it would be just that simple I was sure. Well it was not simple at all, and I had to do like everyone else. Learn the game or keep on tilting and do the same things hoping for better results. I always say you either learn the game or get run over by the players who are learning the game. I done a lot of things here to stay busy so I didn't think about all this no more than I had to. I got into SMC and that gave me some things to do, and I worked hard to get into the Freeroll Club. About this time I started to notice some changes happening, but my tilt was still with me but not the same as it was but I had to get rid of it all or it may come back any minute. But with all this said, the way I got the tilt under control was a direct result of a man's simple words even if I didn't understand them right them. He told me only twice that I had to deal with my enter demons before things would start to get better. I didn't really understand those words but I made up my mind that I was going to do whatever it took to change and remove my tilt from my life and my game. Once I took some real time to think about those demons it come to me that my demons were all the crazy shit I had been holding on to and my anger was still bad, and I knew it had to go or nothing would get better. Ok I'm about done now but I want to say one more thing. I like to tell new members that CC put me on a no tilt diet for 6 months before I needed to work on other things. Well I really did that and it has and will be with me. and it took a lot of work to get any where with it, but I did it all over and over in my mind and telling myself all the positive things I could find. And all this time I was on CC asking questions about every thing I could think of. and all the advice I got from CC members is still with me today and I keep adding more to my game and life when I find it, and believe me there are things here that can change your whole life if you let it happen, I did and I have not tilted about anything in over 2 years. Bad Beats and other things that may get me mad and could cause some of the old crap to come back are not a part of my life anymore. And even if ten bad beats came at me one after the other, they would roll off my back like water off a duck. I can't let negative thinking get me down, and tilt is not part of my game anymore. And That Is The Whole Truth

When i had a bad beat n lose my mind i tried to go on tilt but i know (clearly understand) myself its only goin to destroy me so first i stop playing close my eyes(said to myself wtf lose with KK dealer hates me) then i go to YouTube type phil helmuth watch some vids n i fell little better haha yes i did feel better...my only suggestion to get rid of tilt is to watch high stake players play or read articles about them n think to urself they lost millions and still have a brave face n still ready to comeback n slit their opponents throat n why would i worry bout some lost i am goin to discuss my last mistake and play it better next time...think like this it really helps me on fighting tilt it may or may not be useful to u but dare to try gl 😊

Sometimes tilt actually works though. I remember playing a hi lo rebuy tournament in which I had a decent stack. 5 mins before registration ended I got involved in an all in and lost. The red mist descended and I ended up rebuying and shoving with every hand I got. I ended up doubling up, then doubling up again then winning a huge pot in the space of 3 hands. I went from having nothing to being 5th in the tournament! But to answer your question, I would take a break and go for a walk or something to clear your head of any negative thoughts. Maybe watch a few vids on YouTube of some good plays to inspire you then start playing again.

Dont tilt to begin with. Easier said than done, but thats what you should work on. In poker there will always be variance, bad beats, donk calls, 1 outers and so on. If you play to the best of your ability and get your money in good you should not let variance effect you

What are the most efficient ways to quickly get over tilt and get back to playing your best?

if you are human, then on tilt is in part of your blood. <-- it is normal part for human beings.
the best way is quit when you on tilt.

if you feel you are on tilt easily and frequently like once every minute.. suggest finding a doctor or psychiatrist/mental coach.

Read a book, go out for a walk, just anything to get your mind off poker. Then when you are calm, you can re-evaluate your game and if you feel ready, then go back to playing.

For online, I always like to get up and walk around get away from the computer for a little bit, and even take a break if needed (if not possible bc of mtt or something at least take small break and miss only few hands maybe). If you want to go deeper, like others have mentioned ITT you will need to look into what is causing you to tilt? Check out Tommy Angelo, he has plenty of free info discussing this online

I find i do a lot better if I dont see it. So most times I dont stare at the screen cause I know these sites are going to **** me, esp if its at a time that matters. I wish I could platy 6 tables at a time cause things are going so fast that when I bust out I dont have time to realize what happened cause other hands are going.

Otherwise dont play poker but it doesnt matter you can block it out or pretend it doesnt bother you but its all BS. I have been trying all that ITS DONT MATTER< but damn after the 8x of saying that IT DOES MATTER LOL

I mean look at all the different answers youre getting and Iguarentee everyone in this thread RAGE TILTS while telling themselves he its ok

Tilt is something that comes and goes. You should take a walk to try and cool off. Or you can wash your face with cold water.

Hello forum.
starting to study in poker, I from the very beginning began to accustom myself to fighting with falling in it.
I read the psychology of poker, and now I understand that everything that leads to falls is a Dispersion, which is always close and only your mistakes.
I have already very badly stopped experiencing a bad state, because I always tell myself that there will be a new game, and I'm sure that I will succeed. I do not give up, and I will succeed here.
after the defeat I drink coffee and a little cognac, I will smoke my favorite brand of cigarettes, I will go for a walk with the dog and again in the game. every time I set myself up for the fact that it's tilt is one of the mandatory components of poker and it does not run away from it, so it's best to be with ita little bit friendly.the main thing is to say to myself: I will not give up my mistakes, and I will correct them. Everything will be for me, I will be the first.
it helps me to fight and live in poker.
Never give up.

In playing online poker I have come to accept that crazy hands are going to play out and I can accept it. Playing live however, I have a much harder time accepting that insane suck out...

I completely agree with the above replies about just taking a step back and stop playing. Nothing helps letting go of tilt like a relaxing break. I would go one step further and stop talking shop as well. Get away for the game. Don't think about getting back into a game until it's the game is completely out of your mind. When you realize that you haven't thought about poker then it's time to RE-BUY!!
