To be able to get a read on someone I think it's important to play a lot of hands against your opponent. Write notes about the players you play against, take usage of information when he shows his hands. The most important skill you need in my opinion is experience, with experience you learn what usually happens in different situations. Play a lot and reading opponents will become more natural as more you play. :)

If your turn to act and you for some reason, were delayed and three opponents after you , immediately do (check) it is clear as day: they have nothing to no

Micro stakes it is nearly impossible. Higher stakes I track the player and their previous actions.

Some players will raise pretty much anything before entering the pot, the age old raise or fold type game. Now if you also track how often they enter the pot, more info. Also track what the entered they pot with and with what cards if it went to showdown. Patterns emerge. But they always make mistakes. i.e when they really have a starting hand the PF raise is more than usual as well as the c-bet. Lot's of player at the higher levels may as well be playing their cards face up IMHO.

Snap call that c-bet, many of the better players are timing your call for a tell, when they check back the turn, snap all your chips in with any 2 cards. LOL

Thanks for that! I have been just starting to notice the trend of timing my calls and more often than not if I snap call or raise I get an immediate check/fold on the turn. Same goes for me as well watching their time to call. Good stuff for us online beginners.

Is very difficult! After collecting a considerable sampling is possible to notice some movements.

Maybe if we play poker live we can to perceive more details.

If you're talking about online tells, it can get a little tricky sometimes. It's best to get to know the players you're up against rather than making decisions based on how fast they respond. I've seen players who almost run out the clock when they've got the nuts, hoping to look weak and others who snap call with nothing, hoping to look strong. I would proceed with caution in both these situations. I try to keep my response times equal throughout the game so players don't easily get a read on me.

poker tells come in two forms: Betting patterns(main) and Physical tells.
In online poker, look out for changes in a player’s betting pattern and observe their timing. A large amount of time before calling can sometimes mean a weak hand, and a fast call usually means a drawing hand. However, timing tells aren’t always reliable, since for all you know the online player is also reading a book, watching TV, or rushing back from the bathroom.:)

If a player plays a lot of hands it is easy to read. Playing a lot of hands reveals a lot about your game mode.

think some players are much easier to read than others, but the more hands you have on them the better your chances

Those who are bet no hurry to most likely don't pay attention to the game or doing chores around the house. And if a rival in a friend starts to play quickly, decisively and , most likely, he's got good hand and he hopes to win

The delayed bet is a tell they are holding a strong hand, proceed with caution. The delayed check is a weak hand. The instant raise on the river is a tell as well to a strong hand.

I'm still trying to get a read on the crazy over bet. This definitely seems to be dependent on the stakes. Better players do it for value I think, lower stakes it might be a bluff, I think. I'm not sure on this one, I have called it successfully and not. Trouble is it usually gets a fold so I cannot get enough info yet.

First, you need to gather your evidence. Watch your opponents for betting patterns. Are they loose or tight ? Aggressive or cautious? Do they take a long time to check or are they instant raisers? Remember, it’s downright dangerous to take action on just one piece of information so try and form an idea of their hand based on a combination of timing and betting patterns.

Its not easy to read a player , but as someone told you already here ;) you should play with him a lot of hands , and to write some information , but anyway he can change his style :D I think you should play , and learn , and then you will be able to read a player. I want to say on the poker online is very hard to read a player. You could feel the situation, and time by time you will have much experience.
Thanks.

Poker is a very difficult task! In this game, nothing is easy! And when you play 10, 000 hours, I know you can read many opponents!

One of my online tells is on the river a quick bet is either nuts or nothing against the lowest levels. Also i think alot of players i face will 3x preflop when weak and 5x when at the top of their range. I like to think best info is how many hands they play preflop. If u have a small sample then obviously less of a tell. If u play 1 table its pretty easy to spot the super tight players and the looser ones...if u multi table not so easy
