Tell me on what tactic to play in Omaha? In the hand came 4 cards of the same suit with an ace. I start to play aggressively. I reraise. Picked up a flush, and the opponent had a set in his hand and another card on the table. In the end, he won with four of a kind. How correctly to play in Omaha? What strategy to choose?

P.s. Omaha is much more dynamic and interesting than Hold'em

I'm playing on small stacks. The best training is practice. Well, the video is also looking, but more practice

He couldn't have had quads if he had 3 of the same card, as you must use two and only two of your hole cards. My guess is the board was paired and he won with a full house. As for the hand Axxx all the same suit is a terrible hand if it's not very connected as you have 2 blockers to your nut hand. AKJ10 all same suit would be a hand I would want to see a flop with with but not play aggressively pre-flop. This is a common mistake when first learning to play Omaha, if your not sure air on the side of caution.

really. Apparently he won not with four of a kind. More precisely, I did not have a flush. I thought that all 4 cards can be used. Yesterday was the situation. I have a flush, the opponent has a straight and he won. I was in shock as so. Only then found out that you need to use 2 of your cards. It's harder than I thought originally

Knowing how to calculate probabilities in Omaha is more important than in Hold'em. Usually in Omaha you count the probability your opponents "beat" you, and not their own chances to get the necessary card. If you have a flush with a with ace, and there are no pairs on the table, and your opponent stays in the game, then maybe he's waiting for a full house card.

Definitely watch some training videos or find a guide to read. It's a very fun variant of poker but it can be challenging. Try to get an understanding of hand strength, 2 pair isn't as strong as it would be in hold em, especially multi way pot. Somebody could have a set or straight a lot of the time. Getting all in pre with aces is still a favourite but loses more than they do in hold em

Position is very important. I avoid putting too many chips preflop if I'm out of position. Set over set and flush over flush is quite common in omaha so always think about all the possible hands and don't overcommit with trashy draws.

I like to play Omaha. There many more situations and casualties, and game forces to think about every move.

I played omaha tight very often but as a poker kind, it needs bluff as well. Cannot talk about real strategy, only own mind. The most tip is " we need to watch out for nuts, as they changes".

Omaha is a very interesting game! Are you sure that you studied the rules of the game in Omaha in full? It is necessary to consider outs very well, and not only your cards' outs, but also your opponent! 4 suited cards are not very good starting cards!

PLO is a post-flop game. If you go all-in preflop you will have to get used to getting busted by worse hands. Of course at these stakes, clearly few players know what they are doing and the other guy massively overvalued his hand. You would never have got him to fold the flop anyway.

Hello friend .Omaha is a gabble game .So you need to be very agressive if you need to win .You cant check the flop if you got the nutts because a turn may destroy you .Also i would rather to fold weak hands like flush at 10 ....etc .Have a nice game .

Really interesting. I did not fully understand the rules. I thought all 4 cards can be used. Because of this a couple of times and lost)) but now I understand

By the way, here's the difference. Omaha post-flop game, and hold'em pre-flop game.

Well, I already realized that in Omaha 2 pairs do not exceed the kicker A in hold'em.

I ahve been playing omaha for some time now and my personal opinion is that double suited connections are the best hands to go with.
Or for exaple you can also go along with connectors like 7,8,9,10 all off suit.
One very important thing to keep in mind with omaha is that you have to work on your pot control, so don't go raising in and re-raising without a flop.
It differs a lot from holdem, in omaha you have to try and limp in mostly and if you have a very strong flop just go pot, if it's a pot limit game of course. Because slow play in omaha is a very very bad play as the entire hand changes with evry new card that hits the board. So if your strong don't ever give a free card.

And of course the simplest way is to join pokerschoolonline and do the free omaha course, there you will learn everyrhing there is to know about omaha.

So gl at the tables and may the cards be with you:)

Position, playing well connected hands that have the potential to make the nuts, and play smart pre flop as those mistakes will compound post flop and put you into tricky spots you can't escape from. I learned some valuable information about basic omaha strategy watching a Doug Polk video where he talks to Fernando Habegger about omaha called "How Fernando Habbegger Won MILLIONS Playing 4 Card Poker". It's on his Youtube channel. I highly recommend you watch it.
