I would just advise you to keep playing the free rolls and you'll eventually come to place where you know what to do in every situation.

At the end of the day, they're all just regular humans. Regardless of what trash people talk about free rolls, a dedicated player will have no trouble growing to a level of play that will allow him/her to dominate most of the games he/she enters.

You can try late registration but not to late. Ten minutes late is ok. In that way you can avoid people that go all in with any two cards in the beginning and play some poker. Be patient and do NOT try to bluff too much . People do not like folding their bottom pair in freerolls....

In freerolls you will meet all noobs who don`t have anything to do than stay on the computer. They will shove preflop even with 4-7,with any hand ...You will meet good players in last 1000/500 ...Anyway good luck

What for?

Freerolls are a waste of time if they aren't like satellites for something really good.

yep, you can, but you have to play it tight and then open up.
They are not waste of time (especially CC Freerolls) if you're learning the game and if you're low on the money.

They are great to boost up your bankroll and to kill some time.... :)

Yes, for me a freeroll is worth it only if there is a leaderboard so you can employ a strategy and make the rankings in the long run.

The cardschat freerolls are also especially good because the field isn't huge and the payouts are nice.

Win as in 1st place or win as in In The Money?

Winning a freeroll tourney is normally a looooooongshot, but getting ITM shouldn't be that hard :p

Just keep playing the same freerolls. Youll adapt to it eventually. Forget the trash hands, forget the good hands. Thats all already there if you understand the basics. It just takes practice. If your losing from suckouts, then i would say learn to ease it down a bit on the betsize or try not to call big bets and fold more often to save chips. Theres just so much you can do to get better at freerolls, and eventhough badbeats happen and you do find AA don't hold against 64, its not really a big deal because you can always play another freeroll.

this might be from just a little lack of experience. You already said the answer you are looking for which is "Control".. IF that is trouble for you, i would say learn to controll yourself on calling and stay in pace and focus on controlling what you can when you got a better hand. If you think and truly believe people are out to bluff you eventually you end up lying to yourself and believing what is just a conclusion based on assumption and not on real facts. Remember the opponent also has a hard decision to make, so you gotta focus on controlling that pressure towards them. just note down how they play bluff hands, the nuts, pairs ,ace high, king high, suited connectors, draws, and youll catch a pattern and when you do catch em having a weaker hand, you can value in your hands more by applying extra aggression.

You need to make sure that you are separating the emotional part of the game from making correct decisions. When I first started playing I always thought people were just trying to push me out of hands. Try to reevaluate from your opponents point of view. How did this hand play out so far? What is my table image? How has this player played these situations previously? Would I bluff me if I were him? Once I started looking at the hand more sensibly and not get mad at times I felt the table was all conspiring to not let me play a hand, I made better decisions and cashed more frequently.

nice advice how to play freerols! but we have one more things, rooms and freerll level. freerolls from community and not. in community fr ill never seen more than 300 ppl, (thats my observation, 50 - 250 players) on PS u have a lot of 10'000 ppl frl. Thats why i like to play WPN rooms. especialy now)

- like someone write above, a lot of people make raise with 74 preflop, yeah, a lot, if u play on PStarz) :D

I would advice to be ready to change mindset a lot during tournament.
Don't need to late reg. On the opposite, you can get some nice chips from ppl who just don't care. If you don't get nice cards, just fold a lot, you will loose just couple of chips.
Then later in tournament, you need to watch table and use your edge to collect more chips.
In late state, you will play like any other tournament (micro/low).

patience and tighter playing (but all villian dependant)

posting hands will help you understand how to avoid losing (suckouts happen- but they may be preventable too (know when to fold, 3bet,bet sizing...))

gl
all my bankrolls started from freerolls
not easy and not worth it, but wins feel good nonetheless:D

Patience at the beginning is most important and best thing to remember is to play as many as you can. Usually 30% of the field are often gone in the 1st few levels and maybe the same in sitouts. Once your stack is 4x starting stack. You are generally itm inless it's winner take all

You can win in Freerolls, you just have to play very tight and aggressive. So just wait for really good cards and then there will be someone calling you with nothing.

I've read that u don't need to be such passive at bubble stage and u should try to steal blinds and ante as much as u can, but for me, VERY begginner, geting into bottom prices is nice result, cos it opens doors for 10c mtt.
