I have lost some big hands with pocket aces, and I have won a few, but mainly collect small pots with them. Slow playing is dangerous, but overly strong play can yield very few chips. Take a look at this hand I played and give me some advice if I could have changed my play at any point.

Was I doomed to get few chips because of their hands, my play or the spade flush possibilities ?

Personally after the first flop and 2 hearts out I'd be pushing all in unless someone already has a pair and hits 3 of a kind your in front and if that does happen then it's just bad luck

Pocket Aces are the most profitable hand in NLH generally speaking all factors being equal. Careful not to get tied to your Aces more than your equity in the hand and how much in the pot because after all it is just a pair of aces.

If i play freerolls it is 85% all-in, otherwise it will lose from trash like 37 etc.

playing online poker, I often lost the Bank with a pocket pair of aces so I first learn opponents and look at the situation only then make a final decision

With pocket aces, always enter the pot with a raise (average 3-5BB). If somebody has already entered the game with a raise, make a 3-bet. If you got 3-bet on your open-raise, put 4-bet and so on up to all-in. You need to reduce the number of players. In any case, don't slowplay pocket aces.

I always give 3-5 bbs to reset the swaval, after the flop, each such distribution will be individual, because the flops will not be the same, and so clearly can not be said. In any case, you need to play aggressively, but do not get under the counter set or the street or the flash.

I like to play All Ins with them at max two other player only. Unless tournament is in critical stage then just 1. If I have only the blind I try to make it look like a blind steal so I can get re-raised 2.25BBX raise.
If I have only heads up I try to trap with aces never reraising as it gives away the hand and usually gets a fold pre.

Never limp. Bet big preflop to take out those with garbage hands, then pray that nobody gets lucky in busting your aces.

I won a sit and go earlier because of aces. I had 23o on the BB, one caller, SB folded, I checked. Flop comes down and I have 2 pair, I raise half pot, he shoves, I call and get my double-up, 2 pair vs. Aces.

Fair to say the same has happened to me, so I never limp Aces anymore, just 3bet and shove to any re-raise

if the table is playing loose you have to play aggressively, if it is tight limp or bet 2bb pre flop. There is no way to extract from a tight tablt unless you slow play anf someone tries a steal.

I guess you are saying that winning the blinds is better than a huge loss...you are absolutely right; but it still hurts to get so few chips, especially at the beginning of a tournament.

I will limp or put in a very small raise in early position with them at an aggressive table with the intent of coming way over the top of a raise. Otherwise I am raising the pot in order to try to limit the number of hands chasing me.

Yeah I hear you on that one... I get scared of having AA alot.. especially in freerolls.. I hate how your on the Button with this and there has already be 3 raises when it gets to you.. then you shove and have 4 others call... only for them to turnover hands like K2o Q8o 73o... it destroys me when they pick up the pots..

Pocket A's

First, it will depend on how you played up to this point & how the other players at the table have been playing.

If you have been playing very conservatively up to the point you receive the A's and you bet 4 times the BB, everyone at the table will know you have a strong hand, but if start play the way you have up to that point, then you increase your bets as the hand goes on you might do better.

One thing you should try to do is to vary your play, don't play certain cards & position the same way all the time. More than once I've folded A's because players have changed the way they play after a period of playing a constant way.

It depends a lot on the tournament that you are participating in, what stage of the tournament you are in, the amount of stacks. Where do you want to arrive in the tournament? Is it worth risking going all-in pre-flop? I'm just postflop continuity if I hit Three of a Kind. So this answer is not just about that, a pair of Aces is not a very strong game if the board comes with Draw.

depeands on position,if you are after dealer, then try bigger raise or maybe juste call,if you are late than try smaller raise you want some player in the game.....

Playing AA

I believe i read from Sklansky an interesting theory with the M ratios of pot and stack.

Cant remember exactly how to describe it but for sure you can look into it.

Basically it is a mistake to invest too much in a small pot even with AA.

The more the pot increases preflop the more committed you are post flop.
