If I'm fairly new to a micro NLHE cash table and don't have much info on my opponents, how should I play A10s EP?

If I'm not just folding pre then what's the lowest hand people tend to play if they're not crazy loose?

Thanks

6-max then that's a definite play - fold more times than not in full ring.

So if I play it 5-10% of the time, i guess it's ok to just open with a standard 3x raise? Or in this position is it better to limp more often that not

play it only in a good positions when you see no one was raising before you. If you see that someone raises the i would suggest you to fold

The other notable spot for me would be to play it in the blinds to a raiser with a number of callers if there are not many to act between myself and the raiser.

I play it every time. I suppose I play a bit of a looser style, as everyone will tell you to fold there. it's not that it's the most profitable hand but it is my cut-off hand as far as raising from EP. If your game only consists of raising big PP and AK/AQ from EP then it will be fairly easy to play against your range accordingly.

So, I do it to balance my range for one, and also because I have confidence in my post flop play. For beginner players, which you may be, I would recommend folding though. As you grow as a player you will find ways to get out cheap when an ace flops and someone has you outkicked, or when you flop TPTK (top pair top kicker) and have to end up folding the hand because of the action, or because of a tight player showing aggression.

Hmm I put in a raise from any position with A10 suited and Phil Ivey 77s comments makes perfect sense

Thanks guys, this is all good stuff. I appreciate there's rarely a definite answer in poker but it's good to get a feel for how to play it

Hello cherubael and welcome to the one and only Cardschat. Good name, because that's what we do here. Yeah to start with, you are going to run into those crazy players who play any 2. A10 is a hard hand to play. Position is every thing playing any hand. So in late position you can play more hands if you don't get it raised. I fold a lot of small PPs in early position, because I'm more than likely going to run into a raise, and small pairs lose a lot. So I fold them. So why keep them and lose.

A10s isn't that bad of a card, suited, in range of a straight, not that bad card strength. Standard 3-bet here...

Maybe this can also help you: Poker odds chart

A 10 in EP with no info on opponents is an easy muck. Maybe later after you have some info you can adjust.

Raise 3-4 bb if somebody already raised then analyze what type of that player is.. if hit the flop then fire.. otherwise just fold.. dont think to win every hand..
