Hello! I can play in the cache, but because of the fact that I lost all the money in one of the rooms after collecting a month, I got the fear! How to overcome it to me?

I believe this is one of the reasons Bank roll management is stressed. If you go to the table with only 1/100th of your bank roll, you will not fear losing it and can survive the swings.

Make a small deposit , start playing freerolls , like the CardsChat ones , to build a bankroll . Then set some rules that you will be following the whole time . One buy in for cash games , if you lose you stop playing for the day , 20 buyins for the cash games, 40-50 for sngs ,200 for tournaments . If you lose two-three sngs , play again another day . This to prevent go on tilt and spend all your bankroll .

Have a bankroll management and tilt control . If you fail to oblige to the rules once , don't play for some days . If you see that your gameplay is not good enough and that's why you lose and you have a fear , study some strategy articles here or post some hands for analysis . While you play , play by the rules you know and the money like they were chips , don't be skrutz :)

Play small games and try to build a bankroll from the bottom, focus on your game and try not to get frustrated when things don't go as you expected

I had the perfect answer for this subject, but you people wrote it before me. Just want to confirm everything you people told to this fella.

I am also the type of person who doesn't have a lot of money (college student) so I have to have a good discipline with managing my bankroll but unfortunately this is the skill I haven't developed yet.

I am giving my best to learn how to deal with the money on my pokerstars account and I have stopped making deposits and now I only play cardschat freerolls.

Usually I would put like 30$ monthly on the PS but this IMO is too small starting budget so I have decided to play freerolls and in the July I will put around 150$ on my account and that is the bankroll I could play with without fear of losing it all in couple of days.

Sorry for my bad english I was writing this fast I have things to study tomorrow I have a big final exam I need to pass.

Greetings from Croatia. :))

The only way to overcome the fear of playing because of the money you may loose is to play only the games you can afford to loose.
Never walk on the edge of your financial limits. They call it Bankroll management and should be enforced all the time. :deal:

Learn to play poker ... buy a book, hire a coach and play ... you will only overcome the trauma when you start winning again!

Study hard. Do a great bankroll management and you do not have to be afraid again. It is no use investing in something we do not know how to do. So study and keep in mind all about poker before investing anything.

Doctors say that in order to overcome the panic, should breathe slowly, relax your hands and inhale count to three. This method will contribute to raising the level of endorphins (hormones that are responsible for feelings of pleasure). Repeat this exercise several times, you get rid of anxiety or panic attacks. For some, this method really helps.

If your afraid to lose the money you shouldn't be playing.. Poker is about making the right decisions and living with the outcomes of these decisions.. Key is to have enough bullets to withstand the results when these decisions go bad.

If you do not have a comfortable game you do not need to play there. Choose a more comfortable tables. Any stress is bad impact on your health.

this might be good advice if the person has a TILT issue due to not understanding or handling variance (or many/any form(s) of TILT)... but if they don't have a TILT issue, quitting after losing 1 buyin on a cash table would be crazy so would quitting SNG's if you lost a few in succession.

We don't practise Bankroll Management to alleviate Fear of losing money (or to eliminate fear while playing for real money). Bankroll management is crucial due to the very nature of the game.... ie. you could be the VERY BEST sng player at the $10 buyin level in the entire world and still lose 20 in-a-row (or go on a 50+ game downswong).... or a famous winning MTT player & drop 200 buyins. It is normal! This is why we need to practise bankroll management.

How to alleviate fear of losing money? As has been mentioned, don't play for sums you're not willing to lose. Get better at the game & your confidence will increase.

quoted because you need to listen to this advice^

if you play poker you WILL lose money and you will win money too. but when you are learning you will lose money faster than you will win money. while you are learning you should assume that every dollar you put on the site is a dollar you will lose. when you get good at the game and start to see long term success then you can make better expectations of winning money.

You can't fear losing the amount of money you're playing with. This fear can influence your decisions and effect your overall outcome.
As others have said, BR management is key.
