I am currently working my way up throught microstake limit ring games. I have been winning about 1.5 BB/100 hands while multi-tableing. I tend to see a lot of showdowns and I am winning between 55 to 60% of my showdowns. Is this percentage too low? For those that play or have played fixed limit, what percentage of showdowns do you usually win?

I don't play limit games, but I'd think that if you're W$SD is 70-80%, you're either running ridiculously hot or folding too often before sd (i.e., you're getting bluffed off your hands). 55-60% seems a bit high to me as well, but like I say, I don't play limit.

Yeah, I'm not sure about my LHE stats because they're over a small sample, but in the stud games I'm winning at showdown at 57%.

Is everyone here talking about their Won Money at Showdown percentage for limit holdem, which is what OP was asking about?

For all I know, there's no difference between W$SD for limit and no limit holdem (since I don't play limit), but...

I play fair amount of limit at micro's I have just over 5 bb per hundred and Went to SD 37.84 won$ 53.90 1001 out of 1857. That's over 15k hands on pokerstars.

I'm not sure that I'm being bluffed off too many hands, these days. Kind of hard to do any bluffing at all really at micro stakes limit. More likely I'm paying people off when I know I'm beat. Perhaps this is what your experiencing also?

First off thanks for all the replies. This is a great forum. Ever since I read Ed Miller's book "Small Stakes Hold'em" I have been going to showdown much more often if the pot is large. It seems like there is a fine line between playing aggressive (good) and chasing river dreams like a donkey and I am trying to do the former.

It seems like a win rate at showdown of around 50/55% is about the norm. Sorry I don't have more numbers but I don't have a hud yet so the only stats I have are the ones that pokerstars provide in their "stats" tab.

Anyways, thanks again for all of the feedback.

50-55% is considered standard. Too much higher than that means you are folding too many winners, while lower than that means you are going to showdown too often (i.e. not folding on earlier streets when you should). Also, the answer depends on the stakes you are playing. At the .02/.04 stakes, with 7-10 players per flop, you are bound to face many more river miracles that hit weak draws, sucking out on your strong hands.

On another note, congrats on your winrate. I myself play microstakes fixed limit, over 75k hands at .10/.20 and .25/.50, (winrate over 1BB/100 hands, was 1.5 but just hit a 300 BB downswing, LOL) so I've made a decent bit of money at it. I look forward to future FL discussions with you, it seems FL is relatively quiet around here.

Yeah i'm NL all day now, but I learned poker playing LHE live, and the book you've just read should be your bible. I also quite liked Lee Jone's Winning Low Limit Holdem. Very similar but useful reinforcement. But yeah I'd say the 50ish range is probably much more optimal than being up in the 80's. You're getting odds to make so many calls all day.
