Hi everyone. NLHE 6 Max ZOOM cash game on pokerstars.

How much should I raise/re-raise preflop to not be outflopped by someone with a 2 pair or set but still enough so that someone calls?

I feel like 4BB's isn't enough to open raise with because players will call up to 7BB's to set mine but if I raise 8BB's who will call?

For example I was playing 5NL with KK in middle position. Someone from UTG raised 15 cents. I re-raised to 30 cents. Someone on the button called and UTG called as well. Flop was rainbow, all under cards. UTG checked and I bet 3/4 pot. Player on the button re-raised. UTG folded and I called. I was going to bet 3/4 pot again on the turn but realized I was going to bet more than half my remaining stack so I shoved. They called and happened to flop a set. Was this a bad play? Should I have check/called the turn instead?

I think 4bbs is enought or else you will scare the people in your table from calling , but still it depends on the ammount of chips you have and how the players in your table play imo

It's ZOOM cash game, 4BB is enough to open raise with.
If the other players prefer 7BB to call, means All-in is normal, not necessary to worry who will call.

Such low limits..

Honestly at 15 cents or whatever it doesn't matter if someone had aces or 72 all in pre flop I would call it's just bingo at that level.

I agree that I was pot committed for sure. I just don't know if I re-raised enough preflop. Unfortunately I went bust after losing that hand. I took a shot with $5 and lost.

So just raise 4BB's, don't worry about being outflopped, and commit stack as long as the flop is good?

Raise as much as you think your opponents will call and try to get it in preflop.

I usually open 3x UTG and 2/2x on the button no matter what I have. The closer to the button the smaller the open,I like that logic. If you want to 3bet in position without scare your opponents[when you hold KK,AA] you can 3bet them about 2-2.5x their initial open. I usually 3bet 3x their initial raise with my good cards.

My brother would tell you to go 3BB and my mum would tell you to go all in.

I think I would go 3BB and then try to get as much as I can by reading the players.

4bb is enough, unless your at a table with agressive players and in that case I feel more comfortable shoving allin preflop instead of giving the opponent an option to out flop me for less.

I always try to raise the same amount no matter what. If you're sitting at a table long enough, people will be able to gauge your hand based on your bet/raise size.

Everybody knows that 4BB is enough to raise with any premium cards. What gets on the flop opponent you can not guess. Starting with the allin then you can scare everyone and no one will call.
