Imo the best way to fix errors is to post hands that you think you have played bad and hear some advises. Of course not all opinions will be right but you can see everything from different angles, it helped me a lot while i participated in PSO bankroll builder program...

what Draza said
also review your own hand histories
see where you are losing most of your chips, and why (eg. overplaying ak,low pps...)

I dont think reveiwing your own hand history's is the best effective thing to do. unless you are an expert and know enough to fix them and have the ability to be a consistant winner.

if you want expert training - watch gripsed play on youtube and take not to what hands he plays in which positions this will minimise your leaks - I always train ALWAYS
I treat it like revising theirs no harm in watching the same videos over either to drill in important concepts.
this is how you become very very good,
you want to become a machine you want to know everything about everything.
this will bring you success adventually

The better way to learn play poker is just play... Just play and read a lot, and u gonna be a good player
Frankly, this is not great advice. In order to improve, you have to modify how you think, analyze and play. If you don't look around to see how other players who are better than you do all three of these things, you may still improve, but your rate of improvement is basically certain to be slower than it could be, quite possibly a lot slower.

Posting hands and getting advice from better/more experienced players is really helpful. It's something i still don't do enough of myself. Sometimes spots seem ordinary or not really that interesting, but they could be where you are making consistent mistakes.

I'm not sure if you play tourneys or cash games, but Leakbuster is great for finding and correcting leaks if you play cash. Or maybe try posting some of your stats here , and you can get some feedback that way.

Use tracking software to find which hands and positions you are losing the most cash. Review those hands and work out what you're doing wrong.

You play at pokerstars. Me too. Sometimes I watch replays at Pokerstars from final table like final table from Sunday Million, Sunday Warm-up etc. You can find it in: Tourney>>> Special>>>Game>>> Replay. It should help you a bit, you can see how play some hands, some new ideas.

Since we are unaware of them too you can do a specific search such as how often should I call in the BB with XX In X game with X amount of players. I've had some insight that way.

The best things to do is to get the basics right. By the time you get the basics right you will have enough experience to know what to ask in the forum. I would start with learning about hands, positions and odds. Play good hands from good position with favorable odds. Once you got the hang these concepts you will run into situation which raise questions for you. Post those questions in the forum and absorb the feedback. Over time your game will improve. Good Luck

I have to disagree to with the advice that you should just play more, of course that you should play more, but you'll not get better if you not read, watch videos and everything mentioned above. Believe me i played play money for years and i only knew the rules and nothing more, i didn't make any progress until i started to read and visit forums and watching videos...

There are some basic things that you need to know in order to learn poker. One of the most important and the first thing to learn poker is knowing the rules. It is one of the major mistakes that most players make when learning poker.

One way is to go over some of the hands that you were involved in afterwards, and check to see if you made good decisions.

For example, in a ring game, if you were all-in but got stacked, check to see if you were plus EV when you went all-in.

Start by learning what TAG is and how to play it. If you do that half-decently, it will be enough to make you a break-even player if not a small winner. From there, you can decide how to build on this foundation.

You learn by reading about what you want to do to get an idea of what will be happening and then you do it. Then do it some more. There is the rule of 10000 that says you have to do something for 10000 hours before you truly can say you have somewhat mastered something. Add another 10000 hours for Poker ;)

Some general tips for improving that I find helpful are :
(in no particular order)

- read books
- watch training videos
- analyse handhistories
- post hands on forum and discuss them
- join a study group
- work on your mental game (some great books out there)

hope that helps.

Mate, the most important thing that you have to do in order to impove your game, is to really want to, and compromise with it. Lots of players say they want to learn, or that they will check previous hands and all that stuff, but it just lasts for 2 weeks, and then they are like before. The first big step you have to do it, it has to come from your inside. Excuse me for my bad english :)
