Try and analyze your mistakes and also i think you are lacking discipline. It seems you are playing with a lot of reckless or careless poker. So ask yourself this question, do you care about learning poker ? If the answer is yes then you are in luck, you just have to keep practicing and you'll learn things everyday. If you can't remember what you read that suggests that you either did not understand what you were reading about or you just read for the sake of it.

So look inwards ( inside you ). That's where you'll find the solution.:icon_sunn

Those theories are your foundation to standard poker.

But online, many of those are being contradicted.

You have to play more, observe and adjust.

I agree about discipline. But easier to say than actually do.Especially when you see all the crazies go all in and win with nothing !!!!

You require a discipline in order to put the theory into practice.Experience also play a major parts if you want to overcome the hurdles.

Don't try and rely too much off of the books and try not worry about what one book says from the other or even one book from not paying attention to them. The more that you play the more you will learn. We all struggle and keep moving forward adjusting our game as needed. The good news is, is that you see that you are needing an adjustment. Just keep critiquing your game and you might even find your own style of play along the way. =)

dont try and play with all the knowledge you have learned, just try a few concepts at a time and gradually work your way from there

The more you play the more you will practice and the better will be your game. Make notes on players. Try new tactics and you will do it.

Many of the books I read when I started helped me with the basics, but don't seem to fit in with modern day betting patterns, at least at the level I play.
Keep reading and stuidying, but most of all try to learn from your own weaknesses not others as you say who go allin with nothing.
Experience is what counts in the long run with a little bit of luck thrown in as well.

I have read books and tried everything as well, the best thing that help me learn is just play play play, the more you play and more hands you see it will all start coming to you what works and what don't... just keep playing :)

Same here, I guess it takes time until we get enough experience
That being said have you considered focusing on the math side of the game ? I expect that to help cut back losses. (that's what I plan to do )

The world of poker info is very large and you must learn one step at the time.

Focus on one thing for a couple of weeks and then go on when you are ready.

Some learn by studiyng some from playing and some from a mix.

I read put it in game bit by bit and I play 1000 of freerolls to do it for free.

Reading this forum is absolutely a good thing.

Try not going all in as often and try understanding the players in your table, don't watch a movie while playing look at the players and the ways they play. You'll find the sharks and the fish

simple, but good question. i'd read books to get a foundation by gaining an understanding on +ev, -ev hands to play, how to play position, pot odds, etc. it's then a matter of practicing. if you're continuing to lose, then you need to adjust the way you're playing...perhaps it's overvaluing your hands or calling/bluffing too much, playing to loose/aggressive instead of tight/aggressive. you need to be honest with your self.

I believe and studying and analyzing hands, to see where your game is wrong, where you can improve.

You need to apply what you have learnt in the theory. Try and analyze whatever you do and figure out the reasons why you're not able to make it. Once you get the strategy you will be able to get the desired results but you need to use math and logic according to the game along with a calm and stable mindset. Good luck!

Understand that reading books doesn't automatically improve your game. You have to train yourself to look for situations where what you've read applies. Part of this involves reviewing your play to see when you missed such situations.

At the table, a little trick that *may* help is getting into the habit of taking a few seconds before you act, and using that time to ask yourself what actions are worth considering, not just what's best.
