Yes the paid sites are worth the money but only if you are willing to put in the work! You can start with a couple of books though that will help you get a lot better.

These are my two current favorites

Mastering Small Stakes No-Limit Hold'em by Jonathan Little
a shorter, simpler version Strategies for Beating Small Stakes Poker Cash Games that you can probably find for free on Jonathan various sites

Exploitative Play in Live Poker by Alex Fitzgerald

Watch Youtube/Twitch.tv videos of Pro/good player. Usually they explain every move they make. Perfect to learn quick.

Poker is a game that needs a lot of dedication if you want to improve your game, so I also try to watch a lot free videos from the pros explaining why and how they view certain hands depending on their opponents, position, etc. But mostly read as much as you can and text your self and play also as much as you can to improve on your game.
Good Luck on your next section at the tables..!

Try to break up all the aspects of play step by step and each day try to study a new one and learn from the better players. If there is something you do not do that they do, ask why.

upswing

The way you get better is thinking you are not a ok poker. Because this you not help to win real cash. Put your mind to work in your favor. Coach and HUDs may help, but you are your biggest villain.:)

the fastest way to improve your game is to watch free strategic videos on twitch or youtube. there are paid formations on the site of yohviral for example but it is in French.
https://www.yohviral.fr/

there are surely other paid courses in English that are worth breaking your piggy bank to progress to poker.

To improve your game in poker ... you must study, in fact there are many ways to study (books, videos, coaches) you choose which method suits you best ... in my case, dedicate one to two hours a day watching videos tutorials and the truth helped me a lot, then combine it with good discipline ..!

I like the answer, "if you put in the work" I have studied, and learned alot watching tutorial videos on you tube by the pros. But I always want to revert back to playing the way thats fun, instead of folding when I know what to do. I think I like to gamble to much, and dont apply what I already know. But yes, coaching,a dn youtube has alot for free

You did what a lot of people try to do imo and that is take too big of a step. A lot of people want to play cash games and play tournaments before they have a true understanding of the game and I think they should instead focus their time on playing for play money to learn the concepts and strategies of the game as well as looking into educational material which is what I did. Personally I spent hours and days learning the game of poker before I ever started playing for any kind of money including freerolls.

Play at least 8 hours a day for few weeks and use your mind in a competent manner and you should at the very least be able to beat casuals.

A little bit of everything... not too much pride

To improve, live play is great, as long as you learn from defeats , and don't get too proud of rare, one-off victories.
Videos, coaches, books are great add-ons to your combined experience.

One thing unmentioned is the ability to have an open mind, see the game from different angles, how you could have played better.

Hi, IMHO, earning money at cash games is more about fishing than Poker, you need to know your math to break even with other good players while waiting for a yummie whale that everybody can have a bite off. Just hang in there, dont play with the sharks, let the dolphins enjoy themselves and have a delicious food after all.... Besides that, your money is not lost, it's just in another stack and will come back!
